I found a beautiful cocker spaniel today. It was wandering in the pouring rain in the middle of town. It was extremely friendly and happily let me pick him up and wrap him in a jacket. He was relaxed during the car journey to my vet, which makes me think he is a much loved pet. I left him with the vet who was going to check him over for a microchip and then contact the council. I believe he will be held for 7 days.
I really hope that he finds his family soon, as I am not sure what will happen to him after the 7 days.

Hi there,
I was contacted by a gentleman yesterday who was enquiring about a black cat I have coming into foster care as it looked like (and clearly is) the spitting image of a his cat he lost from the Chisholm area recently. Its not his cat however as my foster was impounded 1-2 weeks ago in a different state.
It is a male black cat - please keep your eyes open if you live southside.
Poster is attached if you can put up to help him please and contact details on there.
Thanks,
Andrea.

Dear animal carer,
We do not normally send out a mass appeal to everyone in the state for help in looking for a lost pet, our normal procedure is to print out and send you posters for lost pets we are searching for in an area but this is an unusual case and requires we cover a much bigger area. Melly is a little lhasa Apso that went missing in Carine, WA on 30th July. We have distributed posters to vets, pounds, shelters, pet shops and groomers and placed multiple advertisements in newspapers. Currently there is a large banner on the Reid Hwy appealing for information. It is this banner that has led to this email. We have had a response from a lady who saw Melly and tried to capture her on the reid hwy on the 30th July. She tried to capture her as did a few other people but was having difficulty until someone else stopped to help. This person managed to capture Melly and said that she worked at a vet hospital and would take her to the rspca or swan animal haven. We have been in contact with both of these places but neither of them have a record of her coming into their facility. So we are desperately looking for this person who may have picked Melly up to find out where she was taken to. We would appreciate if you could forward this onto your friends and colleagues in vets and in rescue groups to check to see if they may have Melly in their care. Her family are desperately searching for her as she is their companion dog.
Here is a link to her pictures and profile -
Melly's ProfileAny help or information is greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Lee

[attachment=222050:Charlief005.jpg]Charlotte has only been in her new home for just over a week and yesterday ran off from the family. She is a typical little terrier who is obcessed with smells, she would not know her way home and her family are very distraught and worried for her. They have conacted all the local vets and pounds but if anyone sees her can you please let me know. She is chipped, and change of owner was done last week but not sure if it would have been processed yet into her new owners name? Anyone know what council services the Marrickville area?

A recently adopted greyhound "escaped" yesterday - kids left the door open.
Lives at Healesville, so could you keep your eyes and ears open?
Male, black, 5 yo - is cat friendly so shouldn't get into too much mischief.
Please ring Julie on the GSN phone 0431 747 130 if you see or hear anything.
Will update if/when found.
thanks
Annie

A young??? female (pretty sure) GSD was found last night and this morning on the grounds of one of the large independent schools in the Ipswich area.
She is very friendly, maybe a bit on the skinny side, sits on command but has no collar.
She is very obviously someones pet as she followed me to my room, waited as I unlocked it, wanted to come inside and then when she couldn't sat patiently on the mat outside our door, then lay on the mat.
Our groundsman have taken her and am assuming they are calling the council but just wanted to put this here incase she is someones pet.
She was SO lovely!

I found a dog wandering on Moore street in Coburg this morning at around 10:30am. Looks like a red heeler cross. I waited with her for about ten minutes but couldn't see anyone around.
She is quite old & not in the best condition. Underweight, growths on her gums, & what seems to be a hip problem - she drags/wobbles her back legs. She is wearing a colourful collar with a tag but it is not engraved. I will be taking her to the vet tomorrow to scan for microchip & doing some door knocking. Please PM me if you know anything about this old girl.

We just sighted 2x bullmastiffs wandering towards Mona vale rd at ingleside. One male and one female, neither of them have collars. It's been extremely windy last night and this morning so it's possible they have escaped from their yard. They both seem friendly but was unable to pick them up as I had my dog in the car.

We lost our beloved puppy from 210 View Street Annandale where her owner was working - we believe she has been STOLEN. Have called all vets in the area.
She is 9 months old and we think she may be coming into her first heat.
Pink collar but unfortunately lost name tag.
She's been microchipped.
She is mainly white - has distinctive brindle spots - one over her left eye and a large butterfly shaped one on her back.
She is EXTREMELY friendly and excitable - is used to young kids and wants to say hello to everything that moves.
These photos are from when she was a small pup - she is much bigger now but just as cute (she weighs around 15kg)

Hi all, sorry to hijack, but can visitors to Blacktown and Hawkesbury (and possibly even Renbury) please keep a look out for my brother's Dobermann who has gone missing;
My brother has lost his Dobermann. He left for work yesterday (Fri) at 4pm and came home from his shift and went to sleep. He woke at 2pm this afternoon and has found that the gate was open and the dog gone. My brother lives in St Marys NSW.
He is an entire male, pedigree, and his name is Sam. He wasn't wearing a collar. He is docked.
He has either been accidently let out by someone coming through the gate (although we are not sure why anyoe would open the gate) or he has been stolen.
He is a black and tan Dobe, 6 years of age, and is chipped and registered to a cousin (his actual owner) in Roxbury Downs SA. She no longer lives in SA though.
If you reside in or around St Marys or are visiting Hawkesbury or Blacktown Pounds (or Renbury on the off chance he ends up there), can you please keep a look out for him. I can be contacted by pm here, email: a *dot* millard *at* optusnet.com.au or via mobile on 0411 843 774.Sam is now happily home.

Hi everyone,
additionally to our other posting about election signs being great for finding lost pets, we wanted to let anyone know who has lost a pet that the polling places are great spots to spread the word for finding your lost pet. It is your opportunity to reach your local community, so print flyers and make a big sign and go to the polling booth and tell people about your lost pet.

Searches later in the day found no sign of the dog. If anyone lives in the area can you keep an eye out for her.

Posting this for a friend who just wants her little boy back by her side..
Description of him which she has written is below. Fellow Canberrans, please keep an eye out!

*************
Elmo went missing on 13 August 2010 some time between 5.30PM-7.00PM. We think he may have escaped from the back yard, but there's also a good chance he may have been stolen.
He is mostly white with some really light apricot patches on his ear and back. He's quite shaggy atm and has a bit of matted fur.
Another distinguishing feature is the oil stain on the top-left part of his head from when he escaped a couple of nights ago (possibly from camping under a car because it was raining). I tried to wash it off that night but it mostly stained - I also made the stupidest mistake of not putting his collar back on before he escaped...but he is microchipped.
He only recently turned a year old - I've had him since he was 6 weeks old and he's been like a kid to me and the best thing that's happened to our family since we've come to Canberra...
We are assuming he'd be in the Lyons area (because that's the suburb we live in) and furthest perhaps Curtin/Weston - there is a chance he might be even further out if he's been stolen/taken-in.
We are all beside ourselves with grief because he really is a huge part of our family...please help us and spread the word.
