Kepala dates for 2010The DOL Kepala event is held every very second Sunday (see the dates below) unless there is a major clash of events. Generally, they like us to have 10 or more dogs, so if it looks like we won't have enough then we will usually reschedual. However, its been popular enough to keep going for a few years now!
Usually, we will have the lagoon aka outdoor pool was 10.30-2 and the run that's adjacent. However, we are certainly welcome to use the other runs and equipment, such as the agility run and the sand run - when not being used by other Kepala people.
Kepala Dates for 2010
February - Sunday 14th (how romantic!)
March- Sunday 14th (because Feb is only 28days)
April - Sunday 11th
May - Sunday 9th - this is Mother's Day, so we shall have to do a number check to see if we have enough

June - Sunday 13th
July - Sunday 11th
August - Sunday 8th
September - Sunday 12th
October - Sunday 10th
November - Sunday 14th
December - Sunday 12th
Should these dates change we will change this post.
Now, the basics
For anyone who does want to come along, there a few things to know:
1. We are going to have fun and let the dogs have fun (this is a big one!)
2. If your dog is not so good with others, it is ok because there are other runs you can use
3. We want ALL the dogs to have fun, so no humping, fighting etc allowed. And as above there are other runs we can use.
4. The more the merrier
5. Not restricted to DOL members
6. $15.00 PER dog (Sorry, but there is no discount for bringing multiple dogs/puppies, its $15 a dog/puppy. Has been this way since we started).
7. BYO drinks
8. We usually each bring something.
9. I am happy for those who do not bring food to pay $5.00 but i need to know how many are not bringing anything so I can make sure we have enough.
Contact and LocationKepala Canine Country Club is located next door to Kepala Pet Resort.
We are just off the Calder Hwy, directly opposite the Good Year Thunderdome.
Refer to map below.
Address:
55 Edwards Road, Diggers Rest.
Melways map ref: 3, A1
http://www.kepalak9countryclub.com.au/About%20Us.htmAnd Finally- We usually have a Kepala thread seperate to this one for each month, where people post if they are coming, what they will bring, how much they are looking forward to it since the last one etc etc. Its also where we usually post the Kepala pics for that month too. So if you are thinking of coming, that's the first place to check out.
For any further information please contact Lappiemum, or one of the other Kepala people.
Hope to see you and your dogs there soon!!!

Hi Guys-
This is the Jan thread, i'm just updating it to let everyone know that the next one is Feb 14th.
So, for those who haven't been, ground rules are as follows:

1. We are going to have fun and let the dogs have fun
2. If your dog is not so good with others, it is ok because there are other runs you can use, but you do need to let us know

3. We want ALL the dogs to have fun, so no humping, fighting etc allowed. And as above there are other runs we can use.
4. The more the merrier

5. Not restricted to DOL members
6. $15.00 PER dog
7. BYO drinks
8. We usually each bring something, and will do a bit of a post around just prior so that we don't end up with chicken wings and nothing else!LOL
9. If brining a plate is a bit much, you can instead contribute and extra $5.00 but i need to know how many are not bringing anything so i can make sure we have enough.
Cost is $15 a dog/puppy. Has been this way since we started. (sorry, no discount for bringing multiple dogs/puppies

Many people coming bring more than one, a few even bring 3 to 5 and pay the $15 per dog/pup)
We have use of the runs, which includes a sand run etc, as well as the outside pool (lagoon pool). The pool is booked for us from 11am - 2.30pm. We also get the use of the BBQ's for free cause they like us so much

Contact and Location
Kepala Canine Country Club is located next door to Kepala Pet Resort.
We are just off the Calder Hwy, directly opposite the Good Year Thunderdome.

Hey there Perthies
I figure ILFC is probably flat out with her new arrival Oliver

so I thought I'd start a thread to see if there is any interest in a February meet?
Can't use the weather as an excuse because it has been a pitiful example of Summer

If we did have one it should probably be the 20th or 21st because the Classic is on the following weekend.
Thoughts?

This thread is a photo and chat thread for DOLers in Warrnambool and surrounds
and is rarely used as a social events organizer.
Those with dial-up internet connection need to be aware that it is photo intensive.

Our next Sydney/Wollongong beach trip will be on Saturday February the 6th.
I'm thinking Little Austinmer. Maybe later, around 6pm to avoid the worst of the heat? Let me know if that's too late.

]Hi all[/b], Can anyone help with some info.
We have a young Bassett Hound and have met a older man at Joondalup Dog training in Perth WA (which is excellent by the way). This man also has a Bassett and mentioned that there is a group of fellow Bassett owners that were meeting up we think every three months in and around the Perth area.
We were told it was advertised in a local paper but we have failed to find it!
Does anyone know when and where these meets are held?
Cheers.

Hi Everyone
I'm newish to DOL - because I have FINALLY got my gorgeous baby - A blue Merle Australian Shepherd!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway - I live on the Northside, and since having Lotties vaccinations up to date, I go to either Nudgee or Sandgate beach pretty much every day to let her have a frolick on the beach, and a play in the parks - I was just wondering if anyone out there goes to either of the above?? Would love to have some puppy playdates!!!!!! Maybe, for those keen, we could organise a bbq or something at Nudgee beach in the New year??? Just a thought
Beth...

Hi there - Beth and I are meeting up at 2.30pm this Saturday 23/10/2010 to let our girls play together, and to meet some new faces which hopefully will become familiar!
Please feel free to come and bring your dogs (obviously).
We're meeting at 2.30pm at Kroll Gardens Redcliffe, over by the agility equipment at the front of the park. There's plenty of shade there so our woofers can play, and on a plus side we were there yesterday when they mowed it all so no long grass!
Hope some of you can make it!
Edited to Add - let us know by posting in this thread if you'll be coming! Just cause we're nosy

I'm voting for mid/late January - and either an early morning meet or late afternoon meet.
Anyone have ideas suggestions for venue? I know there's a few scattered around Orange now but wanted to put this up early so we can all get ourselves sorted!!!!!
Bloomfield? Walk around Botanical Gardens (still dog friendly?) I think we should go somewhere with water so the dogs can have a swim.. no more beach visits for us

Who's around and in??

Hi,
I've already posted about this in General.
This Sunday there's a Pet Expo on. I'm not too sure how big it will be or what's there. Ballarat Dog Club will be doing a few flyball demos (some Geelong flyball dogs are coming up too), I think they're doing some tricks too.
Here's a flyer for the event. I'm hopoing it's a good day.

OK- Time or place?
Leighton Beach was great- kept my monster busy and 9am was great for a meet time.
Or, Riverside Gardens at 9 or 10. I'm thinking water, so the dogs don't get too hot.
Ideas or suggestions anyone else?

I am going to see Steve from K9Force with my boy Atlas in December. As it's a very long drive (nearly 1600km) I will be stopping over in Brisbane on the 17th and would be keen to meet any DOLers who are around in the afternoon? It's my brother's birthday, he works at a pub in the Valley so will have a drink with him early in the evening before heading for a sleep prior to leaving around 1am for K9Force.
I will also be returning on Sunday the 20th, with a view to leave on the 21st. The return journey is all a bit up in the air at the moment!
I would love to have a meet up with some DOLers, I hesitate to say a doggy meet up because part of the reason we're going to see Steve is Atlas'
minor and improving doggy dominance issues! Probably all your dogs are well behaved enough to ignore his ridiculous antics though

I am easy though, if people are free and available etc then great, if not it's also fine

Would love to put some faces to names of lovely people I've "met" on here!

Okay, the next SS/W beach party is on Saturday December the 5th. I was thinking as it gets warmer we should make it later, say around 4pm? As far as location goes, let's try Sharkeys Beach at Coledale. Unless anyone has any better ideas or objections.
There is a map showing where the beach is here:
http://www.wollongong.nsw.gov.au/documents..._-_Coledale.pdfI will not be able to come this time as it's my dad's birthday that day and my little brother will be visiting from Melbourne. But maybe TerraNik can come along so Ahsoka can supply the Lappie cuddles.
