HI all
I was wondering if there were any DOLers on the peninsula who would be interested in meeting for play dates?I have a 6 momth old boxer who is extremely social and it would be great to meet up with others so that we could have a chat and our babies could have some time playing. Let me know if you are interested.
I live at Umins but am willing to travel.

I thought I might try and organise a get together in melbourne.
I haven't thought about exact locations, I thought I would gather some interested people and then try and pick a place central to the majority.
Obviously a doggie play date if possible.
Anyone keen?

Hi Everyone. Just wanting to see if anyone is interested in a doggy playdate. I live in the Albury/Wodonga area and would like to socialize my border collie more. With hubby being in the Defence Force we move around so this makes it hard to make friends and so far all the ones i have made here don't have dogs

Willow is almost 12 months old and is quite submissive, but can also be a little in your face and very excited. Dogs would need to be of medium size as she can be a bit full on for the littles. We have a maltese also but she needs someone her own size to have a play with. Let me know if your interested

I'd like to start re-socialising Justice with suitable dogs with the aim of eventually getting his confidence up so he can come to DOL meets with me and was wondering if anyone is interested in volunteering for a small group playdate at the Eastwood park? Your dog needs to be low energy and fairly submissive/non-threatening for this to be successful. I know there are plenty of really friendly DOL dogs but I'm afraid that friendly dogs that are also hyper make Justice unsettled, because he's not sure if the dog is a threat or not. Whenever I've done a calm introduction with Justice to another dog there have been no problems at all - they sniff and then run off playing and he tones down his play for smaller/more timid dogs. If Justice feels threatened when he meets a dog, either because it's bouncy and in his face or is dominant, he growls and barks and it's almost impossible to then get him to settle with that particular dog.
A few dogs that I think Justice would be okay with are Pele, Earl, Frosty (based on what Mrs Rusty Bucket said in another thread) and Thomas. Justice has been fine in the past with Aubrey and may still be, although she's a little more outgoing than Thomas, and has never had an issue with Pele. I'm also completely open to people's judgement as to whether they think their dog is generally calm and non-threatening, if they'd like to volunteer. Justice has never hurt another dog and rolled over and submitted in less than a minute or two to my mum's maltese x when it was trying to dominate him. All introductions would be done slowly and calmly.

If anyone is interested in setting something up we're free on Saturday the 17th or 24th. Unfortunately I'm not available on either of the Sundays as I have photo shoots booked.

I took Justice to the offleash area in Bonython Park this afternoon and we had the joy of coming across a man with no pants, who seems to enjoy pleasuring himself in public. We were in the park from around 5:15pm to 5:45pm and I had seen the man walking in and out of the bushes whilst Justice was running around, although I was too far away to realise he was in need of clothing. He didn't approach any of the cyclists, walkers or joggers passing through while we were there although it was still daylight at that stage. By the time Justice and I got back to the car and were settled in ready to leave, we were the only ones in the park (it closes at 6pm) and it was pretty dark. As we were driving out the man was walking up the roadway ahead of us with his shirt pulled up to his waist, naked from the waist down and based on the positioning of his arm and its motion, it's fairly safe to assume he was masturbating. He didn't move once my headlights were on him and I had to drive around him.
I drove to the end of the lane way and rang the cops to report him and they sent a patrol out straight away (they rang me about ten minutes later from the patrol to get some more specifics on where I'd seen him). The cop I spoke to said they have been after someone engaging in similar behaviour in the area for a while but have been unable to catch him. They didn't say whether he had approached or attacked anyone. If you're travelling through Bonython Park please be careful, especially after dark as he seems to be much bolder once the sun has set.
I've cross posted this to General as well.

I know this is a little of topic.....but we need to get it out there, the meeting is only tomorrow night. Monday 19th July
If you live in the Penrith area, we need your help. We have approached Penrith Council to 'Fence' the off leash dog park in Jamison Park.
And we need as many people to attend the meeting tomorrow night. Please help spread the word
For more info please join our Facebook group....Fenced dog park for Penrith
Tomorrow · 7:30pm - 9:00pm
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Location Penrith City Council Level 1
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Created By Fenced Dog Park For Penrith
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
More Info Ok this is it guys, we need your support more than ever before.
Please come along to the Council Meeting next Monday night the 19th July
At a meeting held last night there were a few councillors against fencing the park, as they feel it doesn't fall under the catagory "RECREATION" ...which is what we need to go under to apply for the money from Federal Gov.
So we need as many people there to show the councillors that this is needed for the community. And there are lots of people that will benefit.
This is the final "MAJORITY VOTE" for the councillors
We need to fill the gallery this time.
You wont need to say anything we just need the numbers.

Hi!
I'm totally bored on uni holidays and thought I'd see if anyone (probably with bigger dogs - mine like to play rough) feels like a play date...
I'd be travelling in to Brissie, so am flexible with location.
Thanks!

OK - think this needs to be a BBQ meet
I will bring snags, bread and sauce

Bully - cheese and bikkies
Ker - dessert
colliepaws - I'll bring some plastic plates, cups, forks, knives and napkins....I'm pretty sure I've still got a heap of them tucked away somewhere from the last DOL meet! I'll also bring the water bowls and buckets for the doggies and probably some nibbly snack stuff too...
Robbi - chips and dips
Norskgra - I will think of something to bring and I might make another flavoured bread/damper to bring as well
Plus it is Shannon's birthday so I will bring a birthday cake
