    my GSD
  1. i've been dreading this thread. i lost it.... now i am all soggy and salty. like all SA DOLers who met him, i adored Odin and i just cant help but think of the timing. so brave of him to have gotten that snake. he knew his job, and he made his sacrifice to protect those he adored. more hugs than you can handle V, and pass some onto your OH and little girl as well. and to you LMWS, who was amazing enough to save him as squirt that i could meet this amazing specimin of a dog who has changed my mind on white shepherds forever. :mad :) to Odin, i hope your journey was not an awful one, thinking of your master, and knowing you did what you had to.:D to everyone like me bawling their eyes out.
  2. awww, look at all these adorable baby sheppies. i remember when mine was a cute little fluff ball. now she's become pretty, lacks cute, but can look very proud. just remember guys, dont get too hung up on teh problem puppy, and just enjoy while its a puppy, because mine is getting out of that stage now, and i sometimes wish i had worried less while she was little.
  3. awwww, so sweet. looks like mischief, like my little girl did. she pulled up over half my garden, while i set ground rules with her. i agree wtih Nekhbet, she needs to be part o the pack, will also help you teach ehr right from wring, and wrong is pulling plants around. i taught my girl very quickly not to bark and cry if i left her outside, and now she doesnt care. but you have to teach her that barking and crying is not a way to get attention, and that pulling plants is a bad attention. sounds barmy, but i told the plant off, and she learned plants were evil. as for excerisse, she is still a tiny tiny baby, so too much excersise is when she has had absolutly enough, and is getting unhappy. i stopped my girl after she started getting really panty, and taught her "settle" which comes in handy when we have company now.
  4. cheers nekhbet. no, she is done teething. i think its just that my OH is useless when it comes to being stern. he has created a monster..... hmmmm, should i spray him with the vinegar too? and to bigben, i find the birds keep me perfectly awake, leading to no sleep and a grumpy me, especially after a bad night.
  5. ok, i know that GSD are vocal, and all that. my girl had gotten out of crying and whining at night. recently she has started again. its as bad as when we brought her home, only now she has more volume. shes 5.5 mths. how do i discourage the crying. she doesnt need to toilet, or feed, she is just crying. i think its because my OH was reactiong at one point, and she learned it was positive. im at a wits end, and have found myself lobing my books across the room crying "shut up" just because i cant take it. if i just have to deal wtih it, advice on how to chill me out would be nive
  6. mine had a full set of BIG pearly whites by 5 months, lost em all in 2 weeks. eah pup is differnet though.
  7. my little girl was the same, only she chewed the bed when we ignored her:) eventually she learned that howling for a wee was hte only crying she could do, and eventually she learned to hold her bladder. she has recently started up again for some reason, but back on topic... if its the same time, its needing a toilet. i didnt have one, but i wish i did, crate training might be a good way to go. and lastly.... where are the piccies
  8. i am so sorry. so young. so cute. how devastating that it was something so unexpected and unavoidable. he will be waiting for you at the bridge.
  9. RIP snoop. its always good to remember the old days, when we have those friends we grew up with.....
  10. RIP Zy. it seems so hard when it was paralysis tick because it seems so avoidable, and yet, we have to accept that sometimes it cant be avoided. she is free now though.
  11. ....... AAAWWWWW so sweet. what a cute girl. as you can see, we have a lot of RC advocates here. good luck with your girl.
  12. personally i feel royal canin, and chicken carcasses..... with some pureed pumkin to take care of the appeitie..... treat her every so often with some home made dog bickies my GSD is only 5 mths too) and then tlc . never used eagle pack before though.... sorry. Hills science diet isnt too bad though. the taste is good for fussy eaters. i wont touch advance though..... makes koda's tummy VERY upset. however each dog is different, and some have better results than others on different foods. and good on you ffor rescuing. want lots of piccies
  13. poor kangaroo. as said, at least its not suffering. and at least you are giving thought to it, some people dont even bother. they just get the dents taken out of thier car, and thats the end of it.

most of my troubles with koda were before her feral stage, as a few owuld remember, by my venting post a few months back now.most of the damage has been repaired and the certificates shall be replaced soon anyway. the only reminder is the reciepts got all the blood out of the shoes, thankfully. she had her first day at obedience. second youngest, and yet she was one of the better behaved. she got stepped on though, and i was ready to bop 2 dogs who got too growly with er. one off leash!!! and the other one was so big and unruly the owners coudlnt hold him i was not impressed.
