  1. I visited last year. It is absolutely amazing to see in person- incredible skills!
  2. If you like Rough Collies, and want something that looks similar, but is smaller, a Sheltie might suit (I don't know what they're like with kids though), the ones I've met lovely temperaments. Also, there's nothing wrong with the classic family dog- the cocker spaniel! they're friendly, loving, excellent with kids, would fit your exercise and size requirements.
  3. For a smaller size, and child-friendly, have you thought of a Cavalier? I've seen quite a few families with young children and a Cavalier or two, and I think it would suit your requirements really well. If you like the mini dachshund, did you consider a standard Dachshund?
  4. ooh, I wish I wasn't super busy for the next couple of weeks- I would have loved to do this with Chuck (he's 13, still thinks he's 5 though). Since he'll be 14 next year I guess I'll just have to see how he's doing then, he might be a bit old.
  5. voted you should also remind people that they can vote once per day- multiple votes is great :)
  6. just thought i'd mention that there is one currently on Gumtree for sale - not something I ever thought i'd see for sale there. Looks like it moved over with the owner as a pet from France according to the ad.
  7. My Springer Spaniel never bothered with the chooks we used to have- they roamed around the backyard freely during the day and so did he- however, he was taught from a puppy to leave them alone, got a bite from my territorial drake for his curiosity as a puppy and ignored them completely afterwards. He was then much more interested in stealing all the eggs, carrying them carefully out of the pen and into a nice unbroken pile on the lawn, and then settling down to have a lovely snack  the Cockers we had though- would NEVER trust with the chickens because they just never learnt that they had to be left alone (they would leave them alone until our backs were turned)- chickens a bird, therefore they must be chased they were kept inside or in a different yard while the chickens were out (although they ignored the chickens once they were in their pen). It seems to depend on their temperament, trainability and prey drive. Goodluck with your new chooks I loved having them
  8. I am sooooo hungry now!
  9. There shouldn't be a problem with Customs unless you're bringing the product in in commercial quantities. I've bought heaps of stuff from the US and have never had any issues. ;) Well thats what I thought, I purchased some oral care gel for Mav and the shampoo and conditioner and customs wanted $49.00. Strange really as I have purchased other stuff from the U.S.A and its come in without being taxed. Mamas cocker spaniel is spoilt.
