Dante used to play with my other bunny in the courtyard together. They used to chase each other. Never any aggression.
In saying that, they were NEVER alone and I would never trust him fully.
He is great with all my rats, mice, rabbits and snakes. I want him to be exposed to them and be friendly. I can take him to my parents where they have free range chickens and he will not chase them.
I know they are bred with a high prey drive, but I want to expose him to, and socialise him with as much as possible and teach him they are not to chase and kill.

As long as you always supervise and because you've had him since he was a puppy, it might be fine.
My Iggy waited 6 months to kill my bird or perhaps he never planned it but one day stupid me left cage door open by accident. Thought about it on the way to work but thought it would be fine because he'd never shown any interest previously and they'd been together on a daily basis. I'll never forgive myself for that, i truly adored my little bird and I'd had him for 3 yrs, he was my top priority when I adopted a dog but now I know so much more about dogs and their behaviour, I realise I was expecting an awful lot.

I'm so sorry to hear of your bird
I have kept dogs all my life, my family have also always kept many other animals. We have 2 dogs that we let roam with the chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits etc all day with no supervision. Our other dog can not be trusted with anything other than people and dogs.
I would never trust Dante unsupervised with other animals. He is too quick to excitement and although he may not intentionally hurt another animal he would get carried away.
