Canberra region rescues are often able to take Sydney dogs but need help to establish a transport connection.

Once only trips or a regular run and often a carer can meet at an hour or so out of the ACT to make the journey shorter.
Animals may include mum cats or kittens (who will need a crate).

Journeys (paste address into google maps) are from:

Renbury Farm - 406 Bringelly Rd Austral (icon A on map)

Blacktown Animal Holding Facility - 415 Flushcombe Rd, Prospect (icon B on map)

Hawkesbury Pound - 10 Mulgrave Road, Mulgrave NSW 2756 (icon C on map)

Canterbury Pound - 2 Short Street Bankstown 2200 (icon D on map)

to

Mittagong

Mossvale

Goulburn

Canberra (icon E on map) or outskirt suburbs

Please post here for rescues to see or PM Pound List if you would like your contact details kept in the 'transporters' folder for regular trips.

*remember these are pound animals. Use a harness, collar with temp tag: take proper care along the journey on pee breaks to avoid escapes and leave your own doggy at home. F10 can be safely sprayed on car interiors and clothing to disinfect.

I can transport 1-2 dogs at a time from Renbury and meet transport companies/voluteer transport to Canberra at the crossroads of the M7 & The Hume Highway ( Casula Bunnings). Only 10minutes from Renbury but it may be easier for alot of potential volunteers travelling through .

I can collect them anytime between 9.45am-2pm any day except Fridays. The dogs can stay for a few hours at my house if their connecting transport can not meet me before 2.15pm (have to get home then for school kids). I can then meet transport between 4.30pm-7pm at either Casula Bunnings or at Heathcote McDonalds (Princess Highway, Heathcote Rd crossroads).

Ok, I clearly suck at fostering as my only attempt resulted in me keeping my pretty little kittens. HOWEVER, I would like to help.

I am living in Canberra but visit Sydney once a month to visit family. I can probably give you a weeks notice each time. I can take dogs in either direction. My next trip is on the weekend of the 12th of March.

Sorry confused so sorry if posting this in the wrong area.

Is anyone able to pick up a mum and 4-5 kittens tomorrow or bring these darlings back to Canberra from Renbury. We also have 2 ginger cats and a burmese to bring back but they are due later this week and can't go beforehand. So might be looking at this weekend if anyone can collect all of them. If so please call 02 62881219.

Petrol is covered by the person who is getting cats/dogs, the tansporters going/coming from Wagga $20, when you have a couple of dogs and kittens/cats it can amount to $60-70 doing short trips in Sydney would be at least $20

Are any of the above doing a trip to Canberra over the next week?

There is a potential rescue dog/pup I would be interested in at Renbury that is already overdue. I can't do the complete trip to Sydney, but could meet in Goulburn if someone was coming down this way.

Thanks.
