You could alway try Bichon Frise.

I'd never heard of the breed. Looked it up on Wikipedia where it said what you said:
A member of the bichon group of dogs, the Bolognese is thought to have descended from bichon-type dogs in southern Italy, around the 11th or 12th century.

If you google" Bolognese dog breed in Australia", you will be able to go into pets4sale and see that there is a breeder in Australia. I didn't even know they were being bred here.
