  2. watching all fall off dead is the best part i never thought it would work pick some fleas up at a show once sprayed the boy and couldn't believe all coming off so quick for a natural flea killer i love it and it does smell nice too dfa
  3. alkira ave has a poultry shop but i don't think the meat stays fresh very long and dogs turn their nose up at it best one i have found is donnybrook rd meat wholesalers in norlane great meat great service and prices really good a bag of 10kg chicken frames is $5 20kg of chicken mince is $10 dfa
  4. boil a lemon in water or buy lemon stuff in a bottle and add to water spray dog and fleas fall off them dfa
  5. when my dog was on metacam injections shes about 30kg she only got 1-2 ml can't see a dog given 50ml you would need a bloody horse syringe to administer it dfa
  6. i had a foal with it once vet did blood tests and said that her blood count was so low she was using her bone marrow to fight the infection and PTS was only option so big tough me was like if we have yup OK but at last second said can we at least try and save her they said they'd give her IV fluids IV antibiotics for 24 hrs if blood tests didn't improve or they stayed the same there was nothing else they could do well i'm happy to say after three weeks in the vet (and a mortgage to pay the bill) she came home she was 5 mths at the time and now is a beautiful 3 yr old filly so please don't give up hope i really hope all goes well for your new boy dfa

  9. sorry i've been away showing for the weekend and only just had a chance to catch up we brought bonnie as a five mth old pup 11yrs ago now(only feels like 3yrs) she has given us three beautiful litters got her ch and endurance title and always been very fit and healthy when she was six she had her last litter by c-section and within a few months she had lumps coming up on her belly they weren't in the mammary glands but some laid done the centre and some quite close to her boobs of the the vets and biopsy done was told it wasn't a quick killing cancer but extremely fast growing one so had a GA and had them all removed after the fist op bonnie was like a young pup again so full of life and so much happier then she was before the op but within 4 weeks they were coming back by 6 weeks they were size of golf balls back to the vets and the vets wanted to try radiation to try and shrink them as they said from the lab test on the first lot the removed all the cancer and if the came back so quickly opener her up again would be pointless as they would probably be back again within weeks i was unsure what way to go and even though it wasn't mammary cancer i wanted her de-sexed and all mammary tissue removed anyway so of to the specialist and radiation began lumps didn't seem to shrink but more started coming up but they were only pea sized lumps coming up at one stage she got really sick and wouldn't eat and looked like she was dying so off to the vets and low and behold she has pyometra so had to be de-sexed on the spot and was told her chances were very slim of pulling through another op(we are now 10 and half yrs)even though i was told i would be lucky to have 6 mths and had got nearly four yrs i still wasn't prepared for losing her i ask that they remove the lumps that where there while she was under and all mammary tissue as well after a week i was able to pick her up from the vets(longest week of my life) and was told she also now has skin cancer on her belly as well so now we are fighting two different cancers that was six months ago and once she recovered from the op she was like a new girl again but over the last month she has not been doing to well and each day is a huge bonus there are probably things i have left out but with tears streaming down my face it is hard to think thank you all for the hugs and well wishes and for everyone with sick babies our thoughts and prays are with you and a huge big cuddle from me dfa
  10. i don't have a rotty and hope i'm not imposing by posting here but just wanted to let you all know our thoughts and prays are with all of you my foundation girl has cancer and after a few ops we now know we are on ltd time and every day is a blessing i read the first pages with tears in my eyes but the courage and love you are all showing to your babies in these hard times warms my heart to know people still love their kids as much as i do please keep the posts going i look for them everyday with a glimmer of hope things are going well for all and please disregard the idiots who have no idea how hard these things are and would like to keep the forum all about them will be thinking of you all and big hug to all the kids and may tomorrow and everyday after see that improvement we all dream of dfa

  12. i would put her on vitamin K just to be on the safe side vitamin K won't hurt her if there is nothing wrong but can save her life if she did absorb some paws crossed she is fine dfa
  13. some just will hold on to they are more comfortable eg. home my little man has been shown from six mths and it took to he was 9 1/2 mths before he would do a wee at the show and the only reason he finally did one is cos we stayed over night LOL but he tried to hold on as long as possible where my 14 week old girl will go at shows no problems just depends on the dog i wouldn't be to concerned he'll go when he has to dfa
  14. you get a better shape to the nail instead of a straight cut and it is so much quicker for me to go out and go zoom zoom zoom zoom zoom and one paw done i always used cutters and thought nah wouldn't be easier until i used one and now i love it depends on the color of the nail darker nail are easier to cut the quick on but once you cut the quick once you don't want to do it again i've only ever done it once on a friends dog as he moved just as i cut and he bleed for donkey's if you only have a smaller number of dogs to do probably not worth getting one just for convenience but when doing larger number of dogs i can't believe how much time i used to waste doing nails compared to now personally i think it would be a personal choice and what you feel most comfortable with for me i love it but others probably love cutters just the same dfa ETA you don't get splitting of the nail either
