  1. Apparently its cauz her vuvla is too small and a little urine get in the crease around it causing the irritation. Nappy rash basically.
  2. Well it flared up again.... so off to the vets this time. Poor lil girl has vulva dermatitis. She has to have a cream applied 2wice a day - and I have to stop Luigi trying to lick it off again! And back to the vets on Saturday for a check up. In the mean time I am ment to try and get a urine sample. He thinks its either her urine causing it - being too asidic ectra, or an anatomical issue.... basically her vulva is too small to project the urine far enough from her body so she ends up with a little of it collecting around her vulva causing the inflamation. If this is the case she will require daily use of a nappy rash cream to prevent it comming back once we get it cleared up with the medicated cream.
  3. I checked her again this morning And it seemed much better. Back to normal size and more pink then red. I then had to rush off to hospital becuase my mum was going in for emergency surgery. When I got home tonight it looks almost normal again. At this stage I speculate she was a victim of a "bitey-face" game gone wild. Ive seen little red marks on legs of each of them after rough and tumbles so I wouldnt be supprised. But I will keep a really close eye on it over the next few days and off to the vet if it flares up again.
  4. No other changes... no cough, no runny nose, she doesnt seem to be licking or worrying at it... But I think if its still looking the same/worse it will be off to the vet.
  5. Zoey is just over 1 year old, desexed. I was giving her a belly rub tonight when I noticed her vulva looked a bit puffy and red. On closer inspection its not bleeding, and its more the crease either side then the entrance. Whats going on? Should I be worried? Is this normal??
  6. I did take him to the vet Friday morning. They suggest putting him on puppy food for a while and see if that helps and if not then look at blood testing. Both dogs free feed so have food avalible to them nearly 24/7.
  7. Ok, my little guy is LOOSING weight. I didnt think that was possible but just to be sure I took him to the vet to weigh him again. Last time we were in there he was 4.5kg. Now he is 4.1kg. I know it doesnt sound like a huge loss, but on such a little dog 4.5kg was underweight to begin with. He is now practically nothing but bones ! I dont know what to do. I need suggestions of how to fatten him up. He is getting extra feed with me at work now, but he will only eat untill he feels he has had enough... how do I make him eat more? He eats a good quality food. What can I feed him that is high in calories and will help fatten him up???? His exercise has increased slightly latley I think that is part of the reason but not excessivly so. He seems fine energy/personality wise so I dont think he is sick. He is upto date on worming and parasite preventatives too. He does have a slightly sensitive tummy and gets vomity/dioarhera easily but he allways has done that. I wish I could just take some of Zoeys weight and stick it on Luigi then they would both be perfect
  8. *sniffles* Tissue please anyone? Harminee they are so beautiful. Your such a kind soul to do these for people.
  9. I cheat and walk my 2 on a coupler leash with a swivvel thinggy for when they decide to switch places. I usually prefer them to walk out in front of me (even if its just a little) because I can see them there and make sure they are safe. With them beside me because they are so small they fall off my radar unless Im lokoing right down at them... which results in me tripping over my own feet.
  10. I found them here for $45.00 http://www.vetnpetdirect.com.au/product.ph...t=358&page=
  11. On playing tug - I play tug with my dogs. Well more Luigi then Zoey, she prefers fetch. Luigi will bring me a stuffed to to play tug with and I will ask him "GIVE" and he releases it. I can ask for him to give it at any point in the game and he will (sometimes, if he is really, really revved I might have to ask twice) and then I will ask him "SIT" and "WAIT" and when in wait mode he will sit there staring at the toy and I can bing it right infront of his face and make the toy pat him on the nose. Then I will release him with "OK !!! You can have it!" and he will pounce on his half of the toy and I encourage him with "Tug! Tug! Tug!" while we play untill I ask him to "GIVE" again. Sometimes after Give will throw it for him to fetch which he loves too. To teach him to "GIVE" I useto make the toy go dead and stare him down and in the begining I also useto put my finger across the front of his nostrils (remember Ive been doing this with him since he was 10 weeks old - I wouldnt recomend this with most dogs) and he would release the toy and then we had masive good boy parties and he got the toy right back again. I never ended a tug session by asking him to "give" and then taking the toy off him... I would end it by asking for a give, then throwing it away and then ignoring it when he brought it back. I also proofed the "Give and Wait" game with bones and other treats.
  12. yay !!! It came out all by its self ! Luigi is all grown up now, he has all of his big boy teeth!
  13. To have the tooth extracted how much should that cost ? At this stage we are not planing to desex Luigi untill later in life as we are concidering showing him. Should we decide not to or his papers do not come through (long story) we will desex him sooner. Im worried about subjecting him to anastheic unnecicarily though. Ohhhh *worried mumma face*
  14. It doesnt seem wiggly at all.. Ive been trying to wiggle it for a few days now. Its been there for a while, the vet seen it last time he was in there, about early November and she didnt seem to concerned, just told me to keep an eye on it... but its still there and because its longer then his other teeth I worry it might be doing damage or something?
  15. Luigi has pretty much got all his adult teeth now, but where is big front teeth are (maybe the canines?) his adult one has come through right next to his baby one which doesnt seem to be budging. It is longer then the rest of his teeth too. Here is a terrible pic off my mobile but it shows the teeth. The longer one is his baby one and the one next to it is his big boy tooth. Should I be taking him to the vet for an extraction or leaving it for a while yet to see what happens?
