  1. I would like to know the advices as well. My dog: Zoya is a very timid, happy go lucky dog. she always careful approaching other dogs and prefer that other dogs making first move. but that's only offlead. On lead, she will lounge and growl and rather looks quite aggressive to other dog. but if we let her sniff the dog (usually only happen in dog park), she is fine. only the process to get the other dog while she is on lead that looks aggressive. Off lead she is a beautiful dog. I am interested to hear some answers and advices.
  2. I remember mentioned about this movie but the japanese version along time ago, like 2 years ago .... no one seem know about what i am talking about LOL.... the reason I mentioned about the movie cause I really like the breed. It doesn't look like typical akita breed that I normally see in Australia. I really wanna see the Hollywood version and I love Richard Gere
  3. It sounds terrific ... I am assuming it's in Victoria. I am wondering if i can take my dog for a weekend away there and watching sled dogs. My dog is cross breed german shepherd x husky, does she need a coat to get warm and does she need to wear boots so her feet don't get frozen? just wondering cause everytime i am worried about Zoya 's getting cold, my BF said that she should be fine, she is a half husky. cheers
  4. I understand where you are coming from. Zoya is just over a year now. she is a friendly, lovely and dopey dog. The thing is she is quite large and like to smile. What i mean by smiling is she lifting her upper lips and showing her teeth. she has done this since she was 8 weeks old. she always smile when welcoming me home or seeing people she fond of. Zoya loves playing with other dogs and quite gentle with small dogs or puppies. But i understand that in other people view she looks quite big and nasty especially when she was grinning and wagging her tails + bark occasionally She walks regularly and I try to take her to dog walks events so she just get used to seeing other dogs and hopefully ignore them. no treats work so far, i have to put her in sit position and talk to her. a lot of people give me dirty looks when i did this cause they must have assumed that my dog must be considered dangerous.
  5. Hi everyone I remember the first time i have my puppy Zoya, I was so excited and I shared my baby news in here in DOL. I remember as well at that time a few people has puppies almost same time as mine. Zoya is 10 months old now... I am excited that she will be 1 year old soon in June 20th I am thinking to have a bbq party for her... tho she doesn't have many doggie friends apart some random doggies in the park. I am wondering who else that their babies will turn 1 year old in 2008 maybe we should make a thread for our pups that just turn 1 year old. Include name and photo please.... cheers Zoya's recent Photo - its hard to get a good picture of her. Zoya 10 weeks old

  7. OOh i love the name Sorcha... i always consider either using it as my future baby girl's name or second doggie's name. But the meaning i know is means Brightness.. that's why i like it cause it has the same meaning as my brothers chinese names. cheers
  8. Hi I am interested in taking my puppy Zoya 9 months old for swimming just for recreation and i am hoping to reduce the chance of her getting hip problem. I have googled the address but silly me can't find the address for the Devon Meadow heated dog pool. I am really excited now cause i never know that this kind of place is exist Australia is the best Heaven for doggies I reckon. I am still learning to drive, so soon i get my driving lesson i am hoping to be able to take her around more. cheers Lee
  9. G'day everyone I need a few advises regarding Zoya my puppy. she is a german shepherd x husky. 1. ok first problem is Zoya always fart. I feed her dry foods, some doggy meat balls, bones, and chicken wings + puppy milk. I don't mind when she farts in the house, my room and in the park.. but in the train.. please.. I love taking her to places, catching train. She well behaves in the train, but she does release some gas there. People will give me funny look and i feel helpless. I only can say "sorry it's the dog". It's quite embarrassing though people seem to like her alot. 2. Zoya loves people but she loves other dogs even more. When she sees other dogs she will bark and try to come to them (dogs). But she will stop when it get 1 metre away and waiting the other dogs to sniff her first. She is quite polite in my opinion, but of course not everyone like the idea of big dog coming to their dogs, friendly or not. I always have her on leash but she is big and i am tiny. What i should do to stop her getting too excited when she see other dogs? i take her to dog park and dog beach regularly but she still excited when see any dogs. I only can think those problems at the moment. I might come back with further questions. regards Lee
  10. Yeah I guess you are right. I just can't imagine Zoya being locked in a kennel and only get human touch like once a day. and those other dogs noises will scare her. She is a real sook. I am worried she won't be the same Zoya when I am back, that sweet and beautiful girl anymore. I don't have any relatives here. And i urgently need to go back to my country to be there for my mum. It's hard decision. I have to leave either monday or tuesday next week and come back in 14 march. It's hard to leave when you have baby.
  11. Zoya loves other dogs and she is quite gentle with small dogs. She is easily get tired and mostly happy laying down next to me. She only digging because my housemate dog is digging the backyard but i hardly leave her alone unattended. I am watching her like hawk. Before i go to work early in the morning i will feed her and take her for toilet (she understand command "toilet") and then i wil give her treat and put her in my room until i came back from work. She loves chewing shoes and papers. so i gotta to make sure those things removed. She is ok with cats just love playing with them but won't attack or hurt them. She is not a barker. unless something spooks her. I have problem teaching her to speak. but she likes to whinge like a yawning noise but only does it when i near her but busy reading books or doing something else. She never escaped from backyard but if the door open and she see other dogs she might go out and say hello to the other dogs. But i never leave her alone. She knows how to sit, shake hand, begging, belly rub, stay and wait (these 2 still 70% successful rate) she will wait for sign OK before she eat her food. she is a polite puppy ever. and she is beautiful..
  12. Hi I am a bit worry to ask for help here but i am a bit desperate and run out of solution. I have to go back to my country to check on my family regarding some problems in the family. My only issue is leaving my baby Zoya who is 7 months old. My housemate has offered to look after her, but again she hardly look after her dog or perhaps different parenting style with me. She still likes go party, going out and come home very late. Maybe because she assuming that I will look after her 8 years dog no matter how, cause she know i love animals. I feed my puppy 2x a day + some snack time. I give her bones regulary as well. She is a very well behaved puppy ever, I swear. Everytime i come home, I just need to take her out for toilet time and then she will happily sit next to me, sleeping or playing with her teddy. I can't imagine putting her in a kennel. I think it will give her so much stress. I am wondering if someone who is willing to look after her in home while i am away and i am happy to pay for reasonable cost. I am away for more than a month. regards n.b: btw my puppy is a cross beautiful german shepherd and gorgeous husky
  13. Thanks again for your kind advices. I have re-read again my post, and it does come across as I am a stubborn, stupid and unresponsible pet owner. I think i must be kind of parent who think nothings wrong with their children. I do worry about Zoya all the time. But as I mentioned before that Zoya hasn't shown me those kind of signs anymore.. I have been sick these few days. and to be honest the money is quite tight at the moment. When I able to get get out from house, i will get that urine container and get her urine sample. please be nice, cause it get messages across better. Meanwhile is there any antibiotic that i can give her in case she is not feeling comfortable? something like Ural? thanks again for your time replying my post. cheers Lee xoxo
  14. Hi again Ok.. before everyone get too nasty to me, Zoya hasn't done the humping anymore. I think must be something to do with hot weather. She was desexed in 12 Dec 2007 before reaching 6 months old. I am thinking that she might has been on heat as well. I have wormed her again yesterday. She is scheduled to see a vet next weekend for a check up and I will ask the vet regarding the humping. She peed and poop regularly and seem fine. She eats well just looks abit tired due the hot weather. My understanding about UTI is that she feel the pain when she is urinating. Zoya pees 3-4 x a day. she looks fine not in pain. sometimes she would hump the air after last toilet before bed time. I just read in other 'humping puppy' topic, it mentions that it could be hormone after desexing considered she starts doing it after desexed. But again for peace in mind, she will see a vet this saturday and I will ask the Vet regarding the issue. thanks for the reply cheers
  15. thanks for the replies. I will worm her monthly. She is not doing those humping anymore and usually she only does that like twice a week... So I am going to wait till tomorrow and and she how it goes. thanks again
