  1. Just a side note, try and keep your dog from rough housing or recieving any knocks and bumps for the next 10days just incase. My old girl got in to rat bait years ago and that was a crucial bit of advice that I learned from the DOL brain trust :). Better to err on the side of caution just to be safe.
  2. Thank you so much everyone! I know some (most) people may not read it but even if makes a few people stop and think it will be worth it. Especially with the lead not being attached to it, I'm hoping they will be like "Why is that dog wearing a harness if they aren't using it?". Making them actually look properly. I can but hope lol.
  3. That's what I was thinking too VM. I'm definitely more inclined to leave the "nervous" part out and just have "in training" part, haven't been in here for so long I have forgotten how to edit my post.
  4. Hi Guys, I've had a look online but I'm not winning. Does anyone have any ideas where I can find a harness that says something along the lines of "In training" "Do not touch" ? I won't be attaching a lead to the harness, only the collar, but I find that the warning collars do not stand out enough. This dog is timid of men but we are working on that and he is coming along in leaps and bounds with slow introductions :). The problem is, he is gorgeous! People tend to want to try and pat him without asking, we are very strict with who he meets and the situations we put him in but I would still feel better having a visual deterrent for those adults that try to sneakily pat him. Thanks guys :)
  5. As far as I know one of the Austral vets has opened up a new vet surgery just off Newbridge Rd (Moorebank) :). It's in the same complex as Fernwood, I do have their card here somewhere but stuffed if I know where I have put it, I will update this post when I find it. Fantastic reviews so far.
  6. I forgot to mention- If a dog has already gone over its mandatory holding time, it will be desexed and ready to collect the day after the adopter pays the adoption fee :).
  7. Lol When I saw you had posted after me I had a "Oh crap, did I get it wrong?" moment :) Ps. Hi Anna! Long time no see! (I'm a chronic lurker these days). :)
  8. After meeting and paying the adoption fee-The dog will remain at the pound until the close of business hours on the final day of its mandatory impound time (7 days for non microchipped dogs, 14days for microchipped dogs). At close of business hours it will be taken to the vets for desexing (2minute drive up the road) and you will be able to collect the dog the following day from the vets (normally after 11am). You normally receive a phone call from the vet directly to let you know your dog is ready to collect.
  9. She is confirmed as safe with rescue if not adopted or reclaimed :)
  10. Oh Pers, I am so very sorry for your loss. I always loved seeing Hamlets photos and reading about his funny little quirks. Rest easy over the rainbow bridge sweet boy
  11. Oh Cazstaff, I am so sorry for your loss. Such a tragic and devastating loss. Rest easy over the rainbow bridge old boy
  12. Not that odd unfortunately donatella. I have collected 6 dogs from BP and 2 out of the 6 have had their microchips found on day of release prior to their new chips going in. Fantastic that the owners got a chance to reclaim their pets (and they both did :) ) but it's unsettling chips are being missed.
  13. I do remember when they 1st started up, they advertised for admin for their facebook page. It was along the lines of "get PAID to share photos". I am 95% certain it stated that you would be paid $10/hr or similar. I for one would love to know where the money for that comes from! As with all thing PR, it was quickly deleted so there was no evidence. That incident (along with many others) regarding PR speaks volumes as to their dodgy dealings.
  14. I am so sorry for your loss Heidi. Rest easy over the rainbow bridge sweetheart
