Just curious what's the most common media that people use nowadays to keep track of when treatments have been done/are due. Ie. Calendar, Phone App, Computer Program etc.?

My lovely 14 week old Tibbie has little brain snaps and goes mental with biting every now and then. He loves to go for both feet and hands. For the first week we had him I would use a yelp if he bit but he stopped paying attention to the sound after a few days . Since discovering clicker training my method has been to try and reinforce the calm behaviour and using kikopup's clicker training guide with biting, as well as offering him an appropriate chew toy instead of my hands/feet. I realise it's early days still but we have three small kids visiting in a months time and I'd like to at least try to make curb some of the biting before then. What sort of methods do you use to help reduce/stop the biting in your puppy/adult dog?

What sort of treats do you use for training exercises? At the moment we're using Nature's Gift liver treats but after reading that too much liver can be harmful to dogs we'd like switch to something else

The Adventure of Mr. Bear- A diary entry Learnt a new trick last night, I can now climb out of my play pen and summon mum by scratching at her door. Not sure why she's so concerned, there's just so much possibility for mischief when the humans aren't around! :eek: I need to try to find some sort of cover we can put on top of his playpen, to stop him from pulling another escape tactic! I don't want to use a tarp as he won't get good airflow from the fan that way. Is there anything you guys can recommend that will still let the air flow through but prevent the little man from pulling another Houdini? Butter wouldn't melt

Thanks minimax, we've been doing that, still doesn't want to play by the rules though - the second he's out of his crate it's play time. Spent a good 40 mins trying to get him to go last night - no luck. Put him back in the crate for 10 mins when we went to try again he'd peed in there- second time this has happened now luvsdogs - we did try one but he started going elsewhere when he was in his pen so we switched back to just the pads.

Ooops, I seem to have missed a couple of these last night. I'm gonna blame puppy brain and lack of sleep, sorry all! Kirislin - Super cute pics! minimax - Eeep! Thanks for that haha, certainly never going to be a dull moment with this little guy! *crossing fingers that it's a phase :) kelpiecuddles - That's not a bad idea, will keep it in mind for when he's a bit bigger! Bit leery of the bucket idea, he's far too curious for something like that when we're not around to watch! I might try the two bowls idea and see if I can find a small clam to give it a go- maybe it'll help him not freak out when he gets a wash too. :laugh: Thanks for all the advice, so glad I found this place!

Thanks guys! He seems to hate water any other time so I'm not sure if he'd go for the shell idea. He's not trying to lay or splash in it, just flicking it out of the bowl. Were any of your dogs like that as well?

Hi All, We caught our tibbie pup flicking the water out of his bowl a couple of days ago. We tried to distract him and eventually just picked him up and moved him for a little while, every time we spot him doing it we just try to redirect or do the loud buzzer like AH sound. I left him alone for two hours today in his playpen and came home to find he'd emptied the entire bowl out. Any tips on how I can get him to stop doing this?

Thank you for all the replies. Taking him outside to eliminate isn't an option for us right now, which is why I said eventually we'd like to do so, though I appreciate the advice. I'm wanting to use the pee pad attractors as he likes to stuff around a lot at night. I've tried putting him back in the crate for 10 mins and then onto the pee pad but he just wants to play, which is not ideal in the middle of the night. lol

Thank you all, the ones the breeder was using are just lemon scented so was unsure if we'd need to add something to give him a nudge. One other question, are there any major no no's if we are wanting to train him (eventually) that he will have a pee place inside as well as outside or should you pretty much stick to one or the other?

Hi All, I'm the proud new owner of a 10 week old Tibbie, he's still getting used to his brand new home but I have a quick question. Just wondering if anyone has had any success with a wee pad scent attractors? The breeder we purchased him off was using pee pads and said he has a pretty good hold on the idea that that's his place to go, so we're wondering if the scent attractors actually work and may help him out a bit with the change in surroundings Thanks for your time!
