  1. The home is only about five minutes from me and he'll still come to training where we go. Once he's fully settled, him and Bruno can have occasional playdates too :D
  2. I'm moving hosting companies at the moment. They said there'd be no down time - LIARS!!!
  3. Darren said he'd send $40 worth of treats to whoever won any of the Sydney only vouchers if they couldn't redeem them. Plus the vouchers can be gifted to someone local. Or sold.
  4. You still have a few days to buy tickets before the draw next Monday. If you're not in you can't win!
  5. Good choice Lisey :) I occasionally foster for them and do all their photography and I highly recommend them as a group to get involved with
  6. I've arranged a mega fundraiser for Fetching Dogs. There are thousands of dollars worth of prizes and eleven chances to win! Full details are on my blog here > http://www.ruthlessthings.com/blog/2013/07/fetching-dogs-and-ruthless-things-mega-fundraiser/
  7. Bruno is the star of that photo though, and Jackson looks a bit "cross" (ie the straight stare) that could put people off. My only suggestion is to be 100% honest. When I read his original profile it didn't sound like the dog you described. When a rescue writes "requires strong leadership" I think the dog is a bit out of control. It shouldn't be that way but many people seem to be using euphemisms these days. I have the same reaction with "good with dogs" - a dog that loves all dogs but knows no boundaries and will run up to any dog to say hello. Is he like this or is he genuinely good with dogs - ie respects their space and interacts with them like they want? If a dog gave an appropriate "stay away from me" growl" how would he respond? If he is genuinely good with dogs I'd take the time to explain what that means. His profile has been rewritten. Not sure if you saw that. To be honest, I'd rather he went to someone that is dog savvy, so I don't mind if the language excludes people that aren't. He's not out of control, but without strong leadership he could be. He's stubborn and will take the piss if given the opportunity. He's good with dogs in so much as he can walk by dogs of all sizes and temps without misbehaving. He's been told off by Chopper, Angel and Trixie and heeded them. A couple of times I've let him off lead with other dogs and he just wants to run. If he gets barked at he doesn't really understand it but he doesn't react.
  8. Thanks Aphra :) I should mention that FD had rewritten his profile earlier today, and that's what Aphra tweaked.
  9. I don't think your post was at all flammable either ;)
  10. But he's more than that Sas and I hoped the video and pics would show that.
  11. I should say he's safe from BSL in NSW and there's no BSL in ACT so he can live there too.
  12. I hope not. He's safe from BSL in NSW and ACT. There are two perfect homes for him in VIC but he can't be sent there because of the colour of his nose. Ridiculous.
  13. No, no and no! He's had soooooooo much promotion online by people sharing posts and blog posts and PetRescue have plugged him a few times too. [As well as me posting about him on all my many pages a few times a week and Fetching Dogs promoting him on their page.] I'll ask FD about listing him on Gumtree. I think in the past they found it attracted crappy enquiries though.
  14. What I am wondering is, has that already happened :D :D Wonder no more, four dogs is our limit. We're renting.
  15. At the start of the year a friend of a friend was having personal issues and could no longer keep the dog he'd saved from death row [under my recommendation] so I said he could stay with us until a home was found. Knowing what a great temperament Jackson has and the fact that he's handsome as anything I thought he'd only be with us a month or two. It's been over 6 months now and he's still waiting. During that time he's had four suitable applications. Two pulled out before the meet and greet because they decided their second dog was too old for him. The other two decided they weren't ready for a second dog after all [Jackson did nothing inappropriate at either meet and greet]. The whole time he's been here he's never caused any trouble with my own four dogs [two of which can be quite selective]. I'd love for him to go to a home with lots of dogs, but even if there's only one for company I think he'll be happy. If you know of anyone looking for a dog like him can you please share his profile? I'd really like him to find his perfect forever home soon. He's only available for adoption in NSW and ACT. http://www.fetchingdogs.com.au/dogs/jackson/ He has his own Facebook page too where there are squillions more photos of him > https://www.facebook.com/000.jackson.000
