  1. Our little Chance is just the sweetest little man, so sooky and cuddly! Im sure he wont be waiting too long for his new home! He arrived with his legs near perfect, so in the short time with the pound and then the carer, his legs have been corrected. His tail hasnt been docked either ,he has a natural bobtail :D He doesnt appear to have any issues at all now, just a normal happy, bouncy puppy! I just love him, hes such a cheeky little boy. Hes also looks to me to have some Boxer in him :)
  2. Dulcie is looking so much better now! She has been desexed and is ready for her new home! She gets on really well with other dogs, but likes to play hard. She wrestles and does zoomies til she drops  . She is a huge sooky, cuddly girl too :D Her coat has also changed colour a few times now, but she seems to have slight brindle markings now. Im sure she wont be waiting too long for her forever home! Such a pretty girl
  3. Just thought I would update as Ive been following DerRottweilers thread about Bisons Lymphoma & chemo treatment Hope he does as well as Ruger has!! Ruger is doing GREAT Hes not had an off day for months now, still the same huge boofy boy he always was, and still bounding around like a pup even though he will be 9 this year!! I really didnt think he would still be here now, even after chemo, buts its given us so much extra time together and there is no sign at all of him slowing down I need to take some new photos of Ruger, so will get some soon and post them :) hotpaws!! I just worked out who you are!! Sorry I have been so busy with work, my dogs & the rescue dogs I forgot to check into Rugers thread earlier How is your sister dog, Tara, doing Rachiie??

  5. DOL is a great community I may not post too often, but have met many great friends through this forum who are always willing to help out if needed. We are currently driving back home to Adelaide after attending the MDBA awards in Brisbane & a wonderful Doler, knowing we were stopping in Wagga Wagga for a few nights & sleeping in our car, offered us a place to stay with them, even though they are in the process of moving house and also have a very new, 2 week old baby :D we are so grateful that someone would welcome complete strangers into their home to stay.... Stacey & family!!
  6. Huge congratulations Seniors and Silky Rescue from all of us at Adelaide All Breed Dog Rescue. Well done :)
  7. Yes she was treated with advocate :) Finally her hair is growing back shes looking much better & it will take a while for her to look great again but shes slowly getting there. Klunk & Potter + our new pups in care :D They are 8 weeks and our new pups are 6 weeks Our boys are off to the vet tomorrow for desexing & will leave us a few days later. I will get lots of photos before they go & take some more of Dulcie too.
  8. I will take some new photos of Dulcie soon :) Shes now blown most of her coat but she still looks awful We have been to the vet quite a few times for check ups and skin scrapings, no sign of mange at all and my vet thinks shes just very run down from having her pups. Shes slowly getting there but will be in care with me for a while. Shes such a lovely girl, very Staffy like,I really cant see any shar pei in her? she loves people alot and is fine with my dogs and cats. Im also guessing that Dulcie is very young as she acts very much like a pup herself. Huge to Leema, who cared for Dulcie and her pups, & Raelene for helping us to rescue her! She was definately worth it, Im really enjoying having her with me :)
  9. KLUNK :D 1 day old Nearly 5 weeks POTTER :D 1 day old Nearly 5 weeks
  10. For anyone who is interested...an update, Dulcie the pregnant Shar Pei x Staffy, rescued from Queanbeyan pound by Adelaide All Breed Dog Rescue in January :D Dulcies pound photos :) Dulcies first day in Adelaide, the first week of January...happy to be out of the pound at approx 8 weeks pregnant :) Dulcie gave birth to 5 pups, all boys, on the 15th of January... 2 passed away not long after birth, both had bad overbites, 1 was deformed & another passed away at a week old. We ended up with 2 gorgeous chunky boys Mum is only small weighing 15kg so dad must have been something big, as the boys are huge pups :D
  11. Sadly this is happening far too often with PR dogs coming to SA Ive had numerous calls for help, from inexperienced carers who have dogs sent here from PR that have serious issues and the carers get no support or help at all. Poor dogs are the ones to suffer
  12. http://www.viperstaff.com/index.htm I know Mark & Heidi and have met quite a few of their Staffords Mark is the president of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Club of South Australia.
  13. Oops 1 day late as I had a busy day yesterday, but... HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY RUGER Hes doing great, has had a few off days but still acting like a great big puppy.. :D
  14. Aldinga Turkeys at Mclaren flat, may be too far though if your in the Northern suburbs.
  15. I was initially referred to a specialist vet and the cost was HUGE for treatment approx $8000-10000, so I contacted a large vet surgery close to me and they were quite a few thousand dollars cheaper $5000-6000. Lifespan after chemo is not so great, though it does depend on age, type of cancer etc... approx 12-18 months The vets I spoke to said most dogs cope fine with Chemo as it is a far lower dose than Humans get. The different drugs affect different organs so they alternate the drugs every week. A Shar Pei I rehomed last year has also been diagnosed with Lymphoma and although he went into remission quickly it didnt last long. Hes doing ok atm but has had a fair fight A friend also had good results with Chinese medicine and treatment gave her dog an extra couple of years. Not an easy decision to make Shekhina
  16. Sorry to hear that Daegon may have cancer My boy Ruger was diagnosed with Lymphoma last June so I can totally understand how you feel & how hard it is to get your head around it and decide what to do. After a lot of research and speaking to a few vets I decieded to go ahead with chemo and Im so glad i did now. Ruger coped so well, and only had 1 off day with vomiting in the 7 months he was having treatment, you wouldnt have even guessed he had cancer as he still ran around ,played etc and never went off his food. Ruger went into remission after 3 weeks, is still doing great and turns 8 next week :D Chemo is very expensive and although I have pet insurance it still cost a fair bit but it was definately worth it for my boy!
  17. I already have a few names picked for my next puppy and still adding to the list...the bitch who I hope to get a puppy from isnt even in the country yet, she arrives In November so I still have a long wait :D
  18. I have an 8 month old labrador boy in care ATM, hes gorgeous but was surrendered to a pound due to being too much for young children, and owners not having the time for him! Hes just a typical young Lab who needs a bit of training $350 with all vetwork done if anyone in Adelaide is looking for a Labrador ;)
  19. I rescued a Sheltie x when she was 10, half her teeth were broken & she had scars on her face..i figured as she may not have too long to live & no one would want her, she could stay with me...she lived to 17 yrs My parents Akita was PTS yesterday..she was 15 RIP CUBA
