  3. Day Three: Went to the beach, but didn't wanna risk taking my camera, so this is what i plan to do tonight
  4. indeed it is but also very long (those long skinny bits come up over ankles ) even when we were in drought, ours was always the greenest yard in the street as dad always kept it as long as possible when cutting it (something to do with how long the roots are), whilst everyone elses was dead.
  5. after all the rain we've been having, my back yard looks like this
  6. i think i'm getting one of these lenses a friend is over in hong kong and checked them out for me. she can get me the Nikkor AF 1.4D for about half the price they are here just sent her a text saying i definitely want it, so i should have it in 2-3 weeks
  7. i have no idea what i want to do lol my dog isn't very photogenic so that rules out that option lol
  8. lol i upgraded from a nikon d40 and i have a nikon point and shoot.
  9. lol yeah i completely understand. i do like the selective colouring when i see it, but that isn't often, so there is no way i'd do it all the time anyway. i think i've taken 3 photos over the last 2 years that i've wanted to try it on lol i do like that crab thing you posted above. he's a cutie lol
  10. i just want to learn how to do it, not going to do everything in it. there are lots of things i want to learn how to do, and that is one of the few things i even know the name of. atm all i am able to do, is put it in sepia or black and white, crop, rotate, straighten or enhance the colour/exposure as that is all iphoto will let me do.
  11. lol i know it can be overused, but i'd still like to learn how to do it.
  12. well, i couldn't wait a couple of weeks, so i bought the d7000 this afternoon after reading reviews all morning battery is charging away they had a couple of twin lens kits, i picked the one with the 18-105 and 55-300 lenses. so excited :D
  13. lol i'm very low maintenance too. maybe i'll try lightroom first, and if i wanna do more stuff i'll look at photoshop. can you do that selective colouring thing with lightroom?
  14. Thanks SammieS, i have book marked that page can i ask why people use both photoshop and lightroom?
  15. thanks redangel. i went down to my local camera store to check them out, but they didn't have any in stock, not even a demo one (although they did have a sign and space for one) but i ended up looking at the d7000 and playing with it. i think i'm in love! off to do research on that one now!
  16. just wondering for those who use mac's, which photo editing software do you use and why also, which have you tried and disliked? i'm hoping that my parents will buy me one, but i have no idea which one to go with. i know i can trial them, but not sure where to start. at the moment i just use iphoto's editing and that's it.
  17. thanks! have bookmarked it so i can find it again lol eta. just checked out the camera and lenses i wanted on b&h, and with postage and the fact it's just over $1000 and i'd have to pay tax, it isn't cheaper than what i can get here damn i was hoping it was cheaper!
  18. no prob. i think i'm buying my new camera from them, as they seem to have the best deal i can find for what i want (besides maybe dwi, but not sure i wanna buy it from overseas) i want the nikon d90 with 18-55 and 55-300 kit lenses eta. what is the website for b&h?
  19. photo continental are having a sale on canon lenses. there is a banner on the left hand side that links to them
  20. does anyone have one? pros and cons? am thinking of upgrading, and was going to go for the d3100, but have discovered at the moment the d90 is similar in price. the guy at jb hifi tried to tell me that they were pretty much the same, and that the d3100 was a better camera (even though cheaper), but i've come home and done a little bit of research, and it won't auto focus with AF lenses, where as the d90 will (and that's what i want, i don't want to be stuck with af-s lenses only if i want auto focus)
  21. i have this backpack. It's a tamrac aero 3380. i fit my slr, with both kit lenses, along with my 2 lensbaby lenses in the bottom section.
  22. why wasn't everyone welcome in the other group?
  23. thanks having a look now. going to be so hard to decide tho lol might wait a few weeks and buy it as a birthday present for myself
