  1. so i am thinking the wednesday night, or the sunday night at this stage. haven't got much of what i'd like to do what days written down yet, but feel the wednesday might be better as for what i have in my head for what to do over the weekend, the only day suitable for snow will be the monday (if there is snow) so probably won't want a late night sunday. any ideas on where to go?
  2. bump. 3 more sleeps til i leave. if no-one's interested that's fine.

  4. and this was the type of bars i was shooting through for the majority of the above pics
  5. these photo's were all taken how i described above eta. on the left and right of this pic, the blurry bit is the bars. but that was because the subject was so close to the bars so i couldn't get the camera closer
  6. i think if the subject wasn't up against the bars it would of been easier. whenever i've taken photos of things in cages, i stand quite close to the bars, and angle the lens in between bars. i'll post some pics from fiji that i did this from so you can get an idea. unfortunately it doesn't always work as it depends on the cage.
  7. dad advised me when i was asking about macro's, to get one with the bigger number as then you can be further away from your subject and still get great shots. he bought mum and 150mm macro lens which it looks like i'll be taking away on my holiday
  8. don't know if this photo fits the brief, but i just came across it while going through iphoto and thought it might. brown
  9. I bought a lensbaby lens which is equivalent to a 50mm with a sweet spot of focus. Normally I would take photos on my DSLR in auto mode only (with auto focus) but this lens needs to be completely manual for everything (including manually changing the f stop with discs that are kind of magnetic that you slip in and out of the front of the lens. thought i would share some pics i took when i went down bayside way earlier this year. still very much not used to this lens, or manual, or what i'm even doing, so they're not as good as they could be, but i'm getting better. this series are the better ones i've taken so far lensbaby website my lens is the composer, and i haven't bought any of the other additional things for it yet.
  10. i normally have showers and while my parents were away, the dog was around me more than she usually would. when i showered she'd sometimes come sticky beak, but if the door to the shower was open, she wouldn't come here it lol i had a bath last week, and she came near that occasionally but mostly just slept on the floor beside it lol. she became more obsessed when i pulled the plug at the sound the water made going down the drain was was staring at it very very intently lol strange tho, as she loves the pool and would swim all day every day if she could, but hates all other water. she's ok at the beach, but we don't go often, so she's always unsure of the waves.
  11. link here for those who would like to enter. i would but i don't have any suitable festival type photos. awesome prizes including your pic on a mens tshirt sold at jeanswest, canon stuff, and tickets to summa dayze
  12. i have no idea the hybrid camera you are after, but i think i prefer having them separate. i have a new smaller point and shoot than my old one, which i carry around with me all the time 'just in case'. but i like what the dslr can do. i don't think i'd want them rolled into one camera, as i like having them for separate uses.
