So many people say to me that they think the dogs don't like getting dressed up, my guys seem to like it, today I was making a reindeer outfit for Cooper and had to try it on him a number of times to get the size etc right and he was very willing. Anyway I thought this photo was apt for all the people who thinks dogs suffer at the hands of thier owners dressing them up. :laugh:

Hi and thanks Stan's. Mum, all good here and as chance would have it, I just did my Christmas doggy shoot a week ago and just finished editing the photos yesterday. Stan looks as dashing as ever in his Santa head gear. HD, love your little meerkat whippet, so cute!

We live on a suburban block so not much room for the dogs to run about. I take them to an off lead park as often as I can approx 3-4 times a week. It's easier for them all to run off lead than it is to walk them on lead.

My lot are always more responsive if I have the treats in my bag. Today we had another three dogs with us and I find Cooper is more likely to do what he does if we haven't been out for a few days or if he hasn't seen other dogs for a few days. It's like he needs a fix of buddies. :laugh: If we have a stint of out and about every day for a while he doesn't bother.

Glad I am not the only one, the thing is in other situations at training etc he comes back first cal every time, formal recalls no worries down pat. I think at the dog park It is probably my own fault as I don't tend to be as strict. Cooper has always been one to test the boundaries but in more recent years he has mellowed a lot. Its funny this thread coming up today just after I had been to the park and this happened. I generally find if I see the other dog in the distance and he is looking like making a B line for it, If I catch him before he goes he doesn't go but once he goes and is past a certain point theres no getting him back. This was constant when he was a younger dog but now only happens once in a while, probably when I am not on my game. Some great ideas here, thanks guys!

I struggle with this at times as my oldest likes to say hello to other dogs at the park, which is fine if both parties are agreeable. but on occasion he takes it upon himself to go and say hello to other dogs off lead and when I call him back it might take a few calls for him to come but when he gets back I am so annoyed but how do I deal with it? I am torn between wanting to treat him as he did eventually come back but not right away. He gets back with a big grin as if to say "well I am here you called wheres my treat?" :laugh: I just don't treat him. But it is so annoying not sure how else to handle the situation. It's no biggy we are at a huge off leash park and most dogs are off lead and he is a good judge of other dogs, if he gets close and they are displaying any agro he just stops watches then comes right back. The other three never go with him so theres no issue there, but I'd like to be totally in control of how far he goes to say hello to another dog. Some days his recall is perfect and others not so much. Glad the other three younger ones don't do the same. Will watch this thread with interest.

Well maybe the name of this thread should be Frenchies with things on their heads. :laugh: Such cute photos! FM The first one of Frodo is stunning, nice and sharp well composed, just love it! Of course they are all great but that one is soooo good!

All my 4 are on BH, have been for a few years now. Bright eyes, shiny coats and lots of energy and they like it, never a morsel left In their bowls at night. A local rural store stock it for $79 which is a bonus feeding 4.

Do they show these show dogs? If they do how irresponsible to take them to shows knowing they have fleas? I'm assuming showing dogs wouldn't be cheap, travel, crates, gazebo, collars leads, brushes shampoo conditioner and the list goes on, why the heck wouldn't they spring for flea treatment? If you can part the fur and see the fleas they must be crawling with them, poor dogs.

Sweet puppies! Is Sarah cocker x Poo? The poo didn't get much of a look in, she is very cocker like.

Ha ha love the beard? Gotta love a wet puppy, they look so downtrodden when they are wet and shaggy like no one owns them. :laugh:

Chopper looks like he is laughing ! Yes my nephew will miss the dogs heaps, he loves doing some training with them, I snapped some great pics of him doing tricks and some healing with them!

The dogs quite happily watching the dishes being done. :laugh: They think they are going to share! on the back step at mums place. at the park The last night before we came home. A couple from today. One last one, not off all of them but thought you guys might get a laugh, we went to Raymond Island on the Ferry and had a look around, onluy seen one real Koala and a couple of doggy like ones!

Finally got around to loading photo into PB, boy facebook has made me lazy its way to easy to post photos there! Getting a bath before our big trip. First night of our trip, stop over at my friends place. My friends property is 5 acres plenty of room to run around. out and about in the town where my mum lives, Tully is in a coat as she rolled in some extra stinky poo and had to have a bath! My mum watching the dogs while I had a little shop.

My oldest dislocated his two a few years back, the vet did quick X-ray (no anaesthetic ) it showed his toe was only slightly displaced, the vet thinks he had dislocated it and as he kept running on it had actually popped it nearly back in the right position. 2 weeks no excersise and 2 weeks on lead and he was food as gold. Good luck.

My other three rotate between the bed and their beds on the floor. Lucky we have a king size!

Only one of mine sleeps in a soft crate, he doesn't like blankets in it so he has a heated mattress which is unplugged but it's good as it has the nice thick foam and fleecy cover to keep him warm, also a blanket over the top, only ever used the crate for him to sleep in.
