  1. Hi Guys, a few from my photography group had a little photo shoot, a couple dressed up as Zombies for us to take photos of and practise our photographic skills. Just thought I would share a few. These first few were before the zombies got their make up done, Bob our boy Zombie had some special contacts in for effects. We had a young member of the group who wanted to be a victim, she couldn't stop laughing.
  2. We have Ruthless and k9 pro, both awesome!
  3. What breed is your pup? Your defiantley right not to let him carry on with a game of chasey, my oldest now 7 is still a shocker if he has something I want he will run expecting me to chase, I didn't make the same mistake with the other 3!
  4. Great advice from everyone, I just wanted to add with the back yard bit don't set him up to fail, if you can see he's engrossed in something don't call him to test him, wait till he breaks his concentration on whatever he is interested in and then recall.
  5. Fantastic photos everyone! I've been slack although have a few iPhone snaps to share. Coops well on the mend after a little set back thank goodness, hope everyone else and furry friends are all well and coping with the cold weather!
  6. Brilliant Pers, I just shared this to my photography group!
  7. Snap Piper, I just seen your reply!
  8. No worries, the shoulder strap is a god send! Mine is only a cheapy but it is padded and you hardly know it is on there!
  9. 4 fluffies clipped every 8 weeks my Wahl km ss have never skipped a beat!
  10. Looks like they vary a bit in price, I absolutely love old cameras, my uncles still have heaps of older ones similar age to this one.
  11. Some more great shots, looks like that lens is a ripper! How are you going with the weight? Did you see my post in the other thread about options for helping ease the weight? Shoulder straps wrist straps etc? I find it helps immensely especially with the heavy lenses. Looks like you are getting your moneys worth from your zoo pass!
  12. Fantastic pictures! Love them all, beautiful animals! Wish I lived closer to the zoo *sigh*
  13. I feel extremely lucky to have not 1 but 4 of my fantasy/dream dogs, they are everything I could want in a dog and more! I love them to bits! If I could change one thing it would be their life span!
  14. So sorry for your loss. RIP Bow Wow, hope the girls are ok and coping ok with out their big sister.
  15. Beautiful pictures, beautiful puppies, Well done Widget!
  16. Will look forward to more pics. I use a shoulder strap as I have back and right shoulder issues and I find the strap easier. also love the wrist strap, it makes holding the camera for long periods of time so much easier. I have a few of these, just the cheap ones Shoulder strap The more expensive ones like Black Rapid look great. Black Rapid The wrist strap needs to be attached at the bottom via a battery grip or if you dont have a grip you can get a special attachment for the shoulder strap that allows a wrist strap to be attached. Wrist Strap The attachment like the one on this strap can be used for the wrist strap if you don't have a battery grip. wrrist attachment I have been shooting for 2 hours constantly this morning without the wrist strap as I took my battery grip off and I didnt' realise how much I rely on it.
  17. Nice shots, I really love the meercat one, lovely composition, nice light and beautiful DOF! Are you using a neck strap or a shoulder strap?
  18. Have fun, look forward to pictures!
  19. Awesome, great work! I think you need to post some more photos in here!
  20. Our local petstock sells these, I've never taken any notice of price.
  21. I hope that didn't come across as me being awful, it certainly wan not intended that way. I still think you can master it, its just learning the Exposure triangle. It all became clearer to me once I could read the light meter, its a great guide to getting the exposure correct for the lighting situation your in at the time.
  22. Wow looks awesome so far, look forward to seeing what you add to the Zoo thread after the weekend. Did you have the IS off for these? and did you do any editing, or are they strait out of the camera? I'd be interested to see how it fairs with the IS off, for flying running shots the IS will slow the lens down to a degree.
  23. Can't wait to hear what you think of it, I have heard some mixed reviews. I'm especially interested if it can be handheld at 400 and still get good shots, and also what its like in lower light situations, being thats its f/4.5 - f/5.6 it should be pretty good at the long end if the light is sufficient. I'm sure you will have a ball with it, especially at the zoo. Look forward to seeing pics from the beast!
