It was a tiny gap, that may very well have been filled before that day but rain could have washed away some dirt or a rock was moved....who knows? More than likely, like a normal person, the owner would have thought that hole was TOO SMALL to be a concern. Once again, would you like to show us the covered concrete bunker you must obviously keep your dogs in because I fail to see how something couldn't get moved or a small hole dug any other way.

...in this source from another angle; I don't call this a sound fence to contain powerful dogs, however, I don't know how it looks from the inside. If there is nothing that would hinder the dogs from digging their way through it is definitely not suitable.

That is a massive colour bond fence, how much more do people have to do to keep their dogs away from people? That tiny hole is way too small for a Malamute to get through or easily stick it's head out. I would assume that would be more than enough to protect my dogs.

Sorry, I've not read the thread. That sentence annoys some people I know. Hands up how many ankle taps with trolleys have you felt? Honestly those trolleys are longer than the regular supermarket ones and people forget that. Imagine if your dogs tail was run over by one of these.. It could very well happen.

It's fairly simple, if they don't make the store easy for me to access when I have my dogs with me, I'll just take my business elsewhere and buy online.

I talk to mine all the time, appologise, say please and thank you and then have full conversations with them.

I don't think the Havanese or Labrador understand but I'm starting to wonder about the Samoyeds and the Shiba :laugh:

And yes, it's true that children take longer to mature but their parents are mature and if they aren't able to keep an eye on their children then the same argument can be used for the dogs. Why are they there?

It's a two hour round trip for me to go anywhere so I won't apologise for needing to combine a few errands when I need too.

This thread just reminds me of why I am so desperate to move away from this backwards country....

Look I'm just throwing back the same silly things people are throwing at me. I am fully aware of the fact that it's illegal to keep children at home, unsupervised at a certain age. That is not an excuse however to have badly behaved children who aren't under control in a public space.

I feel exactly the same way about dogs. Train in to be polite and under control in public or don't bring it out.

For those of you who are saying you wouldn't take your dogs to Bunnings or see why others should, you don't live out of town do you?

Some of us do however and sometimes we have our dogs with us and it gets bloody hot. So yes, I will take my very well trained dog into Bunnings so it doesn't die in the heat and yes I also expect parents to control their children the way I control my dogs. Fair is fair.

I'm peeved about having agreed to a 'breeders terms' contract. I paid full price (3K) for the dog, I carry all costs of raising her. Breeder gets a litter (they have up to 12 pups) from her before I can spay her. And I do not get one of the pups. I get zilch.

I really wanted the dog and waited for a year to get her, it was either breeders terms or back on the list. Love her to bits but feel like such a mug and would never ever sign a breeders terms contract ever again. Biggest scam.

I wouldn't have signed one on those terms in the first place.

If you weren't happy about it, why did you agree to the terms? You could have gone elsewhere.

I was a part of the NSW Samoyed club but left last year. The politics is too much for me and I have no interest in being a part of it.

They do a lot of good work for the breed however getting the dogs out there, helping puppies buyers and taking in rescues.

...I hope they get the message to every wolf, dingo and wild dog out there so they know what and what not to eat.....

Sounds like it might be snow nose. More common in some breeds than others and it might get darker in the summer. All but one of my samoyeds has snow nose over the winter and come summer they're pitch black again.

When I worked at a vet clinic we had a lot of dump and runs, some people just didn't care however others were so upset they simply couldn't be there. One woman springs to mind. Her Akita had been coming to us for months, cancer had been eating away at his bones for ages and she had done everything in her power to help him but eventually it got too bad and PTS was her only option. This poor woman was an absolute mess and begged her boys favourite staff members to sit with him in his final moments and she would then come and take him away.

It was a heartbreaking moment, we all sat on the ground with him and hugged him good bye, he was relaxed and happy at the end. Thinking about it now still makes me tear up....

My OH can't handle being in the room when they pass either. I always send him out to the car to wait while I'm in the room with our pet. Some people just can't handle it and I don't judge them for that.

I feel very similar about my 14 yr old Labrador. Lestat is a cool dude but we aren't close and never really have been. I put it down to breed. I'm not a gundog person, give me a devlish Spitz any day.

Lestat has had a great life and never wanted for anything so I'd say if your whippet is happy there is no need to get too worried about not having a close bond.

Mine have been told to be quiet so often they've totally stopped doing it at night now.

I have no desire to have children. I'm content with my pack and enjoy their company.

I think maybe I'm the only one who doesn't do this! :laugh: Lili has a pink striped collar, purple harness and pink and aqua lead, Mo has a red studded collar and a red harness but I didn't do it on purpose, his lead is brown.

I don't either, everyone wears whatever appeals to me at the time.
