  1. Two weeks in jail does awful things ....???? Funny, I would have thought HANGING would have done worse things.... Geez our justice system sucks big time.
  2. So sad... RIP Wags. I'd like to get my hands on some of these people.
  3. I like Rose. It's such a pretty name.
  4. You just need to be careful that the service you are buying with either GE (which I have, and know about) and GE Care (which I don't) has an interest free period that you are comfortable paying off within. With GE, the monthly fee during the IF period is $3.95. You can make extra payments with no penalty, and there's no penalty for paying out early. The only other thing is that GE are in the habit of cancelling your account if you don't use it for awhile. If you can't pay it off within the IF period, you might be better off with a low interest rate credit card. I used to work for Hardly Normal and bought a few things with my card. I've just finished paying off my last purchase - a bed mattress - early (as usual). I've bought other big ticket items (Canon EOS camera, a bed for son, my laptop etc) and haven't had any trouble. However I would NEVER get a cash advance on it, and NEVER buy anything that I can't handle paying off promptly. GE make their money out of the nuffs who spend up big on TVs etc, then can't pay back in time. I saw them all the time. My job was processing the applications and add ons, and often had to explain how to know how much was going to be owed per month, particularly when people had multiple purchases on multiple deals on their cards. I've even advised people not to use it. (shhh). ETA: With GE Care, do you know in advance what IF period you have? Is it IF for the whole transaction? If you don't know in advance, a credit card is better for emergencies.
  5. Too active for Bianca. This is more her kind of day. An oldy but a goodie, and very typical.
  6. I have to say Bianca isn't a "playful" dog. When she plays, especially with young or small animals, she plays like a mother dog would - she lies down on her side and just uses her front paws gently. It's very sweet to watch. I remember when the rottie India was young; Bianca would play with her, India would pounce on Bianca's paws, and Bianca would pull them out and "pat" India with her feet. Now the rotties are both big, she's not interested in playing with them. She doesn't play with the cats at all. I don't know if somewhere, sometime, a cat has shown her who's boss, or whether it's because she knows I don't approve. Back to the topic - I actually wonder whether it would make any difference what toy it was. They don't smell or sound the same as the cats, so I wonder if Pia would make the connection.
  7. I don't have any trouble with Bianca, but dogs are not all the same I suppose. Bianca has stuffed toys - she particularly likes the grunty ones. When the new kittens came, she didn't even show much interest. I had her on a lead and muzzled, but only for a very short time b/c I could see her avoiding them. She wouldn't even look at them if they came close; deliberately turning her head away. She'd chase strange cats given the chance (which she doesn't get), but the kittens were "strange" when they came and not even a hint out of Bianca. Maybe b/c we were all inside?
  8. You're right, it isn't a biggy. But if you're curious - next time you're there, ask the nurse/receptionist at the desk. They may know without having to bother the vet with it.
  9. Sorry if I don't feel any pity for the guy. How horrific.
  10. Sorry for your loss Cass. Donkey sounds like a real character. Have fun at the Bridge Donkey.
  11. So sorry Gayle. Very hard when you and OH don't agree - just makes it that much more awful. To me (who isn't there, so only an opinion) it sounds like it's time. Better too early than too late. Thinking of you.
  12. Bianca goes into the shower, but the stall is a bit small, so she has to bend in the middle to fit in. We have a hand held shower which makes it easy. I don't go in there with her, but I strip down to the undies and we both get pretty wet. I'm still hoping someone will remember that I'd like a setup like my sister's for a present. She has hot/cold water tap outside with a hose and hand held showerhead attached. She washes the rotties on the deck so the water falls thru. I'd put Bianca on a ramp to save my back, but basically the same. So easy.
