  1. Clover had her little singleton pup yesterday afternoon by natural delivery. He is a teeny tiny tri coloured male and weighed only 100 grams at birth. He is feeding and snuggling up well to mamma. Fingers crossed this little man thrives.
  2. Sorry meant to get back here sooner. :) Clover had her little singleton pup yesterday afternoon by natural delivery. He is a teeny tiny tri coloured male and weighed only 100 grams at birth. He is feeding and snuggling up well to mamma. Fingers crossed this little man thrives.
  3. Without connected this to your individual situation. I personally only contact my puppy buyers on occassion, letting them know prior to them collecting the puppy that I am always there for them (as you did) that should they have any questions or concerns to please contact me, and IF they find themselves in need of surrendering the dog to contact me first. Some do, (contact me) usually in the early days and then I tend to contact them every few months to see how things are going/went, with desexing, puppy school, grooming etc. I too worry that I am invading their privacy and don't wish to make a nuisance of myself. So I just try to be sure they know I am there IF they need me. Some never contact me but do respond to my emails when I enquire about the dog and are kind enough to send me photos. I certainly don't want to be "in their face" or appear obsessive either. If someone contacted me asking for help with a puppy/dog from another breeder I would ty to help them of course, but also ask if they have contacted the breeder and I would probably contact the breeder myself so I could have the FULL story, as I hope that is what they would do for me.
  4. Clovers temperature dropped to 37 degrees yesterday early afternoon and we had a lot of digging and nesting in the whelping box last night. Her temp is now back up to 37.5. She is restless, happy, bagged up and has milk. She may make it into April after all. Waiting, waiting.....

  6. I just personally believe that to be able to give an item with the natural scent of the mother and or siblings along with the puppy when going to it's new home would have a better effect than any artificial pheromone would (and be more readily obtainable and cheaper to boot.) Now if for some reason those items were not available and the puppy had been in a stressful situation (dare I say it as in maybe from a pet shop situation) then a DAP unit may be of great assistance given the lack of socialisation the puppy may have received prior to going to it's new home.

    "who's Paying"?

Yes, me too! it's that lack of ability to expose them to vital socialisation that is a major contributor to people NOT wanting them around in Shops and public places etc. in the first place! Such a catch 22.
  8. Agree, Christina, a little bit of patience, love and kindness (all free and readily available) should be enough to help a new puppy settle into it's new home. A soft toy or blanket that smells like mum, a ticking clock and carefully wrapped warm water bottle may also help. :)
  9. My sister lives in London, she says her poodle would most likely make friends with all the drunks in the Pub (lovely that they can bring dogs in) and she would have an empty bank account!
  10. A very sad and worrying set of circumstances indeed Pockets, so sorry for you and the puppy owners loss. Yes, these things can happen but why did they temp fate?
  11. Aww...lovey bubbas Angelsun! :)
  12. When I had the singleton many people told me to rotate and express the nipples, however knowing a bit about lactation I let the pup handle things. She did beautifully, she chose only the two nipples second from the back and the rest dried up and shrunk back to normal quickly.
  13. This. Bladder infections can also produce blood and a lovely aroma that drives the boys wild. Let's hope the vet knows the difference.
  14. That's a nice split. Congratulations. :)
  15. I'm beginning to wonder BB! Fingers crossed, thanks for the well wishes. :)
  16. If it weren't for some nipple development and the fact I had her scanned I wouldn't believe Clover was pregnant. Still, a couple of weeks to go yet, so glad I had her scanned...getting a bit nervous now.
  17. Handled like a pro Jules. Well done to you and Miah.
  18. Health testing is important but unfortunately with conditions like syringomyelia and Mitral Valve Disease there is no way of guaranteeing that clear parants means clear youngster or that clear parents will remain clear. But we do what we can in hope of increasing better odds for a healthy pup. :)
  19. Congratulations and all the best to the remaining 11. Grow strong and healthy babies. You will have your hands full. All I can manage is the one pup!
  20. LOL Becks. I don't think that is a high densitiy foam though.
  21. Hmmm...I guess when all is said and done do the best you can and see what happens. I've seen an American Cocker that was clipped repeatedly come back to it's full glory after leaving the coat to grow and hand stripping it when was ready to blow. The dog was an entire so that may have made a difference. Also seen a number of rescues (various breeds) that required clipping come back to a lovely coat with time and care. Once thing is certain, all coats will benefit from TLC. :)
  22. Strangely there are no rules about registered breeders selling or breeding "DD's", PROVIDED the registered dogs are not the ones being used for the cross breeding. There is nothing that says they can't use unregistered dogs, or their family members may also be involved in breeding unregistered dogs. Personally, I'd keep looking.
  23. I saw this too, it does look fiddly but feeding a new born can be fiddly. It's an interesting idea.
