  1. Ari out at vital vet in Ellenbrook has whippets and is also an amazing vet
  2. Wanneroo vet is a little bit far but the vets there are AMAZING I now know a lot of people using them on my recommendation
  3. That's really cute! Is that a cat watching or your shadow hahaha
  4. Canine country club was sold last year I'm pretty sure, So don't know how the new owners are?
  5. I would strongly suggest a pet sitter or going south of the river for boarding. I have not heard good things about any of the kennels north and the one which did have a good reputation was recently sold.
  6. Billy's dog daycare in Belmont or wangara is good
  7. Hope everyone in wa thread is doing well :)
  8. J at least at the Xolo national Mak and I would have less questions to answer and wouldn't have to say xoloitzcuintle a million times ahha :p
  9. Vet nurse run pps is where a lot of my dogs issues started. If a qualified trainer had seen them they would have red flagged her and insisted she had more training and not just put her in the naughty corner. I was 15 or 16 at the time and knew no better. If vet nurses want to take puppy classes they should have a qualification still for it, puppy is the most vital stage of socialisation. I'd rather a puppy not attend puppy classes than attend with some of the ones I've seen run by nurses. I say some, some nurses have an idea but alot don't about dog behaviour and the actual interactions between puppies. My 10 week old ACD got barked and barked in the face by a dobe puppy that belonged to her friend until she couldn't take it anymore and went the other puppy with aggression I didn't know a puppy could have. Up Until then she just sat there and tried to ignore It. i hate to think whar the Dobe is like now since it looked like it was headed to be a train wreck. She's now 4 and still to this day will not go near a dobe and is severely dog reactive and aggressive. I've seen way more pups ruined by bad pps than I've seen come out of it good. The amount of vet nurses I know fresh out of Tafe and doing puppy classes is crazy as well some never even having had dogs of their own
  10. Isn't there Australian working dog rescue? Don't know details of them as I'm in Wa
  11. I've watched quite a few of their classes and worked with most of their trainers on some level. They always have more than one trainer in a class and will match play styles when it's time for offlead. All the puppies aren't just running around crazy. If you are wanting correct socialisation for your pup they are a very safe bet, puppies I have seen come out of those classes (from working as a helper and taking bits of the classes) they are off to an amazing start to their puppy hood :) I would definitely steer away from any puppy classes run by vet nurses without a qualification in dog training though.
  12. If you contact paw prints pet training, I highly recommend them don't know where abouts they do their classes in that area but they are accredited dog trainers running a puppy class rather than vet nurses.
  13. There's a park in edgewater called picnic cove which has never been very busy. The water is rather gross but my very reactive dog swims in there. Pretty much anywhere in the yellongonga regional park that isn't perrys paddock is a safe bet for reactives to have some alone time. there is lots of little nooks and crannies off the track. Touch wood I haven't seen a snake in the 2 years of living around here and walking the dogs. I walk from ocean reef road to picnic cove through the bush which is about a 5 km round trip with time at picnic cove for swimming and playing before heading back. The royal was so good :) was good to see everyone especially people I haven't seen in a while and all the doggies.
  14. What did he do? Haha by the faces will be something. I just want the week to be over hahah would rather not be working and would rather be at the royal. Can't wait til I have a dog that something like that is even an option
  15. Had a good day yesterday at the royal :D saw Bedazzled and Ptolomy and their gorgeous doggies as well as the Xolos obviously. I'm back again saturday to help in the dogswest bit and see the junior handler finals. I am well and truely in love with Brookie he is gorgeous!
  16. I'll be there :) had it planned for ages to go that day
  17. Will you have any puppies with you :p hahaha first question I don't get to cuddle much besides staffy mix type puppies anymore. Far out so it was a long time ago I saw you haha since strauss is now a Daddy!
  18. I look forward to seeing him all grown up! Has he got you well trained has he? I am really not looking to going far from the dog bit because its just so many people and stuff and that going on haha No interest in rides and showbags and all that anymore now im not a kid anymore and i see the absolute rip off like everything is I don't even know what the entry fee is anymore should probably see
  19. I just want to say Rach! xcox Why the 'Rach!' J?? hahah And I havent actually watched an obedience trial before so going to have to find you guys and check that out, is it anywhere near the whole dog bit i get lost pretty easily :/ haha is Strauss competing? Haven't seen him since I managed to steal him for most of that agility show when he was a puppy! Haven't been around a show in a while and ended up with someones dog like I always used to haha
  20. Diva's little boy is absolutely stunning!!! I don't even know what is happening the day im going to the royal (29th) is anyone else there that day??? All i wanna see is the Xolos and some herding so wont be too an expensive day for me
  21. Popping in cos I havent been around much work and tafe and numerous amounts of animals are keeping me on my toes. Ill be at the royal on the day that the Xolos are there dont even know what else will be on that day, i dont go for much besides animal stuff these days everything is too expensive haha Buddy is doing well :) hes 11 this year and is at the vet atleast once a month at the moment the prognosis for his other eye isnt too good but we are just taking each day as it comes at the moment
  22. Look out for me on sunday with Buddy :) he is coming along. We aren't taking any shelter dogs so I'm taking my little boy would be good for him to see some dogs i know arent going to eat him. He is generally up in arms at events like this because I am not so trustworthy of other dogs. CC- if your taking your camera I might have to trouble you for a good pic of budd, he hasnt had one since he got his eye removed I am thinking of getting another houndstooth shoot since this is now him and its how I wanna remember him. The old guy is showing his age with vet visits to the vet weekly at the moment hoping a nice day out will be good for him. I am so keen for a DOL meet because Buddy always loves them and i know i can trust the dogs with him haha, Perry's Paddock is looking great at the moment and I think that the snakes are hopefully going into hybernation.
