  1. Your beautiful post had me in tears Jelly, I'm so sorry. Run free sweet Roo, there are no worries at the Bridge, just freedom and peace and lots of doggy fun.
  2. What an amazing girl Jules, how lucky are you? ;)
  3. What's the best way to empty them? I need to start checking Moosey's more often as he had an impacted one a couple of months ago. I'm sure some dogs just love the sensation though. :D
  4. At this exact moment in time there is: 1 x Sleeping Nacho 1 x Toy puppy 1 x Fleece covered mat 1 x Fleece blanket 1 x Minky blanket :D The crate is next to my bed. Moose sleeps in bed with me.
  5. True, but it's not like the dog was off leash and ran up lunging at the OP's face........the OP didn't need react with that dog and the situation could of easily been avoided. Can't say that I would stick my face into a strange dog's face like that in all honesty? Being a dog savvy person, no you probably wouldn't. A lot of people are not as dog savvy and think dogs are there for patting and wouldn't know about not getting up close with strange dogs (not saying this is you jess, just speaking generally). It's the owner who knows his dogs and should prevent ANYONE from patting him knowing his unpredictability. Unless the stranger went right up and got up in the dogs grille with no warning, it's entirely the owners fault.
  6. She knew his address because presumably he trotted off home after killing her dog as his address and the street on which the attack occurred are one and the same. I'd be dropping more than f bombs if that was my dog.
  7. It was definitely not your fault, whether you leant over the dog or not. If he knows his dog is unpredictable then he shouldn't be letting strangers have any interactions with the dog, particularly unmuzzled. What if you were a child or an older person with thinner skin?
  8. That's a really cool idea Pers! I think it would stop him scratching the ear from the back but wouldn't stop him from getting his foot in there. I'll remember that tip for the next incident though.
  9. No but the stitches are in his ear so he tries to scratch. He didn't need a cone for his neuter. I took him to work today and he went coneless and was pretty good, only a couple of scratch attempts but I was watching him like a hawk. I will go out tomorrow and see if I can get a soft cone or cloud as he definitely still needs one when I can't watch him 100%. He was pretty useless around the office. :D
  10. Don't think that will help with stopping him scratching his ear. :)
  11. Thanks guys! The cloud one looks difficult to lie down in! Not sure if they make them small enough for a Chihuahua? The comfy cone looks good, I'm just trying to see if I can find one in store somewhere in Perth so I don't have to wait for shipping. He didn't need a bucket at all when he was neutered but then he only had a couple of stitches, this is much more extensive. And he definitely needs it on because he tries scratching immediately when you take it off. Yes! I think he's not far off taking Moose or Zoe's eye out! Plus he likes bulldozing under the doona and it's 5 times worse with a giant scoop on his head. There's nothing delicate about my Nacho lol.
  12. Hmm that looks quite good! How does it stay around the neck? Velcro? Haha he is the king of guilt trips!!
  13. Guys, Nacho and I are going mental! His dislike for the e collar is getting in the way of sleepy time. He's been sleeping in my bed because the cone makes it hard for him to manoeuvre in his crate lol but he still spends half the night moving around. Moose is also unhappy with this arrangement as the bed is usually his domain only. Has anyone tried and tested the alternatives with success? Soft cones etc? He's not bothered about the actual cone part but he hates the plastic around his neck. We aren't trying to stop licking, just ear scratching. Heeeelllpppp!!! I told him to do his best eyes so you would help us.
  14. We have a Bissell steam mop which I run over the floors every weekend. We only have tiles and wood so accidents aren't a huge issue. Zoe sometimes pees inside if we forget to leave the laundry light on (she struggles to find the dog door) but otherwise floor accidents are few and far between. I just clean them up with vinegar and water. Nacho is penned inside during the day and uses a Spotty Potty: http://www.luckypet.com.au/spotty-indoor-dog-toilet.html . He only gets the floor if he hangs his butt over the side. I just soak the 'grass' in Napisan once a week and change the pee pad every couple of days.
  15. The huskies in this story are in WA not SA.
  16. I don't think anyone was disputing the head sending?
  17. This dog must have been a real fan of balls.
  18. Nacho eats his own poop, I reckon he'd find bull bits absolutely scrumptious.
  19. Naww I hope he's okay. Did you figure out how he got into your pants?
  20. Water fountain. :D Nacho likes playing in the bowl so the filter collects all the little Nacho hairs and dirt very nicely.
  21. Don't you guys just stick your dogs in the sink?? :D
