  1. I love these dogs! They are definitely on my short list for my next dog. Does any one have a rough idea how much a puppy costs?? I wonder if they'd do ok up here in NQ? It gets humid but I would imagine if they're ok in Perth they'd be ok here??
  2. Hi Fuzzball, How far north are we talking?? Where abouts do you live? I live in Townsville and Petbarn has a pretty good selection. There's also Pet Cafe and Superior Pet Foods on Boundary St, South Townsville.
  3. Cake mix, Winston (Chi x) goes absolutely NUTS for cake mix. Hates the noise of the beaters so he will hide around the corner of the bench while that's on, but as soon as it switches off....that's it, he's dancing around my feet waiting to lick the beaters. He also has a big thing about having a little drink of the leftover milk in my cereal bowl of a morning. Nutrigrain is his favourite
  4. I've noticed Winston has been doing the same thing. I think it might be a little dog thing around the six month mark. He takes a bite then walks away to rest. Then at dinner, I feed him at 6 and he'll have a bite, walk away and play and then want to eat at around 8 or 9.
  5. Does the chicken mince have bone in it? Not sure, I just go to Leonards to buy it. I've also bought trays of it from Woolworths before. I only buy human grade, not pet mince as I've heard some nasty things about it. Plus I don't like the colour difference, it looks strange.
  6. I feed Winston a mixture of chicken mince, vegies and a little bit of rice garlic all cooked up and then freeze and defrost for every meal. Much cheaper and helathy alternative to tin food. Plus he's not a fan of dog food. Every morning I give him half the recommended daily serving of dry food on it's own....plus he eats whatever breakfast my little brother drops on the floor....weetbix are his favourite lol. Then of a night time I mix a little bit of dry food through his chicken "stirfry" lol. He does fine on all of this stuff...including weetbix (and he has no more anal gland problems!!!.....Go figure, especially after eating weetbix the way he does lol). Your puppy is so cute btw!
  7. I ended up going to Bunnings and buying half a metre of fake grass for $12 and then a kitty litter tray for $4...muuuuch cheaper and just as effective lol. I just cut a square at a time across ways and when it needs to be hosed off I can just cut a bit more and away he goes!! Plus when I went to look at those pet loos the lady at the shop told me you dig them into the ground. Seemed a bit stupid to me, why would you buy fake grass and then dig it into your lawn.... Although these people did nearly kill all my fish with their food suggestions.... They have the dumbest people running pet stores these days!!!
  8. In terms of the hole digging, generally bored or they are trying to find something they saw (moth, cricket etc). I was told a few things you can do, put a bit of pepper in the hole, put vinegar in the hole, put there poo in the holes and they wont dig anymore (or fill the hole back in and then put the poo on top) Good luck My pup is 16 weeks as well and I can say pepper definitely doesn't work, Winston licks it up!! Then gives me a foul look when he sneezes from it :p My yard is covered in pepper at the moment, due to all the little holes everywhere lol. Perhaps vinegar will work.... I've also heard lemon juice in a spray bottle???
  9. I hope she gets better soon Rish!! Fingers crossed she'll be home and running around playing in no time!!
