  5. In the past when someone PM'd me I would get the notification in my private email inbox this is no longer the case and the only way I know that I have a Pm is when I log in to DOL, has this function been removed by DOL? Maree CPR
  6. I can. PM me details of what is required. Scottsmum I am not sure you are getting my PM's can you call me. Maree CPR 0437 306 784
  7. A lot of the enquiries I get the people think Pet Rescue is a "rescue" group they ask about a particular dog and when it isn't one of mine I ask what group has the dog and they say "Pet Rescue" I then have to explain PR's role and they are really not interested and brush it off so I can understand where the confusion comes from. 8. Is there anyone in the Erskinville area who can do a home visit for me. Maree CPR

  10. Why did they do that???? what reason did they give for doing that??? I am just gobsmacked... Maree CPR
  11. I would write something yourself and get her to sign, don't rely on her doing that, be ready with it next time she comes back, I would be inclined to give her $200 as $100 doesn't really buy much these days. Who owns the house next door? bit odd if it is empty and she keeps coming back. Good luck. Maree CPR
  12. Hi all Is there anyone in the Springwood area who can do a home check for me the people are coming to Canberra next Tuesday so can be done on the weekend, I know Jill lives in Springwood but have left her a message but haven't heard back which is fine as I know how busy she is, hence my request on here to see if anyone else can do it. Thanks Maree CPR
  13. I live in a townhouse and my neighbours know I do rescue but they would be horrified to know exactly how many dogs I do have. Maree CPR
  14. I have received this email from the mother of her 42 year old disabled son who is looking for a companion dog, is there any one in rescue who may have a dog in their care that would be a good match for this man. Stuart, my 42 year old disabled son's Pets As Therapy dog died a number of years ago and I've been seeking another small dog for quite some time. We do not have another dog, however each Tuesday my son and his carer walk the carer's dog around Lake Gininderra for an hour or more. Stuart's new pet would need to be happy sitting on his knee and accepting lots of cuddles. Be happy riding in our campervan and going away weekends and enjoying running around with our club member's dogs. Thanks Maree CPR 0437 306 784
  15. I remember when I was working in the Civic library here in Canberra which was in the city and Margaret came in to return some books and they were all over due and I had to fine her and she gladly paid the fine, she was so nice and had a chat and then left. Maree CPR
  16. Are you talking about "ALL" Rescue groups or just the dodgy ones that are being mentioned in this thread?? Maree CPR All rescue groups will pay for the dodgy ones if more laws and regs are introduced to try to cover the dodgy ones. Thanks just wanted to clarify.

  18. I saw that on the Project as well and yes they will probably get the kid another Rag doll that necessiarly their sons.
  19. As I said I have rehomed over 1000 dogs in 14 years and was taught that it is "emphasis’s" what you want noticed. This post was not about criticising carers about the wording they use in their dog blurbs it is about time wasters, I am one for constructive comments but take exception when told I am wrong when I was taught one way and others were taught another, I have never had people tell me I am shouting and as I said I was taught that it is not. I will ignore the bit about being a "moron and should know better" I "should know better" than post on some DOL threads as people sometimes can't help them selves to.
  20. the first thing to put is the most important thing that I want to happen - and it has to be short. details the why or twenty questions... like I've been learning from trying to get politicians to do stuff for me (or anybody really)... People love surveys tho. I wonder if this could be incorporated somehow. some questions to find you the best dog... 1. email first with details about you and your life 2. how often do you go for walks 3. how many live at your home where the dog will be 4. how many kids - how old is each one 5. do you have other dogs or pets? 6. how many hours per day will Angus be on his own? (don't suggest the "right answer") 7. do you care if all your sox have new holes in them? 8. did I say email - please email. I love emails. 9. I might answer the phone between 3pm and 4pm on weekdays. I will not answer it during breakfast, work, dinner or sleep time. 10. owning a dog requires patience - how patient are you? (you will be tested, daily). Sorry not sure what is wrong with what I have written, "email me" is in the first line, not buried in the text, caps is to "emphasise" so it stands out, todays generation see caps as "shouting" I don't. CPR don't have a list of questions as I find what I do ask for gives me an idea of whether I go to the next level and that is I phone them and then go from there. I have had a few people lately that have filled in another rescue groups questionnaire which is on average 3-4 pages long and I don't have time to read it when a lot of it does not apply to what I need to know. I feel when you have a list of questions they answer with a "yes" or "no" they don't expand on this, by asking people to write their little blurb is easier for me and after rehoming nearly 1000 dogs in 14 years I must be doing something right.
