  1. I have heard of dousing lime around the yard. I haven't looked into it,because I haven't needed to...as yet!
  2. Tomorrow is the beginning of a much better week for you,it never rains it always "pours" when there is strife.Sorry about your friend. Julz, Indie & Bonnie should be kept quiet as they are, with the lethargy being another sympton,I was wondering if you can add Glucose to the drinking water......so she doesn't feel so flat. All the best wishes are coming your way.
  3. He said he will treat them for 6weeks. Its a slow release rat bait that takes 4-7days to work on a rat assuming they have eaten 4grams. The dogs ate between 20-40g. I am praying so hard that they do pull through this one. He said he didnt think the blood test would help as even if it came back negitive today, it may be positive tomorrow with the slow acting poision? He would treat both of them regardless with Vit K. I really hope your right and the Vit K stops this. praying your right. Indies gums are a bit pale and Bonnie eyes are pretty bloodshot but sure its from pulling on her collar at the vet. Indie, Im not sure, maybe his gums were always this pale? Not grey or white but nowhere near as rosie red as Bonnies. Bonnie has been eating grass all day long, she wanted out at 4.30am this morning just to go and eat grass and has been really quiet. Indie must have taken it down(not something Bonnie wouild do) but if she has seen him with it, she would have stood over him for it. I just want to say thankyou so much to the DOL community. Im on my own tonight. My OHs 75yr old grandmother fell down a flight of concrete stairs today aswell and fractured her spine so OH is away to spend the night with his grandfather. Thankyou for giving me a (virtual) shoulder to cry on, its means alot. By no means is my mind at ease but all your positive stories have giving me so much more hope, thankyou so much everyone. Julzjc bump bump where are you is everything okay???? we are all thinking of you and wondering how it is today?
  4. My thoughts too...what else can be done,Charcoal is used to absorb but within 2 hours & no later than 12 hours. I'm sure we have all had a cry over this thread, whilst there is life there is hope,36-48 hours appear to be the critical periods,so keep pulling for them. That's it for me,back to horrible mouse traps.I've been afraid mine might try & eat the mouse after. No more Rat Sack, not ever.....rather put up with mice than all this worry you are going through.....I'm sure many others have taken this same discision today. So Julz you are not alone we are all with you All that have read this will think & pray for your two all day long, tomorrow and the next week for how ever long it takes. Please try & stay positive, they will feel your sadness & there are many positive out comes from others that have been in your shoes so be optimistic for each day....each hour at a time to get through this terrifying time.
  5. I agree. Look at all the time it took to compile how kind & selfless of OP. Otherwise it will get lost amongst all the pages. Who can do this...Troy or his Helpers
  6. I purchased the Petsafe one with p+p it cost me $100.I am extremely happy with it,I had one dog who hid as soon as I as much as threatened to use it after the first time ,other doesn't bark as she did at anything that went past. I would say no use for a neighbours dog unless it was at your fence line.I'm thinking of taking it around to them so they can see how effective it is. Is there a human one....would be handy at times
  7. Gees I think every-one should have one. I had never heard of it until last week,so I suppose there are lots of folk that have never heard of such a thing.
  8. It cost me $100.00,I've no idea right now the brand etc. but it looks like a remote.I was told about it by an old breeder & was told that now-a days she only has to pick it up & they just know not to bark.Keep you posted.
  9. I know exactly how you feel,I have one on order ,so some-time this week, will let you know.I bought it for my 2 that carry on when they see some-one go past,BUT I also have neighbours dogs that drive me crazy.I've talked & talked & talked, suggested everything under the sun, all to no avail, apart from council what the hell does one do,I have no idea how they put up with it. I have no doubt "we" will get howled down even thinking of trying to shut the neighbours dogs up!
  10. Hey guys, she is still here she posted a few ticks ago In Puppy Problems. i think you must have seen the thread she started. if you look at her profile she hasnt posted since 31/3 Sorry you are right....but she is in to scrap booking gees that would take up any spare time they have shops that go on until midnight & all nighters, some of them are more obsessed than "us" Dolers

  12. Some one on DOL told me about cooked mashed pumpkin, great filler,I either put cooked liver with or sardines.I had to buy human sardines as they would not touch the "cat variety"fussy little sods.Have you also looked into Glucosomine & chondroiten for her joints & cartilidge? You are doing well

  14. I tell people the price of my puppies and what they get (ped papers, worm, vacc, mico chip, puppy pack etc) I do not charge more for colour or male or female. Where some in my breed do. It is often you see black/white $900, red/white or other colours $1000+, just because they are coloured. I remember one add there were also different prices for males/females and colours, including a difference between a blue merle male to a blue merle female. (All pet/limit price). I don't justify my price so much as put it in a way "This is what you get for that price" in the form of health testing, back up reassurance, etc I have found many pet buyers do not know the difference between main/limit register or show/pet. I give 99% of my enquiries the same time. (Apart from the obvious scam ones or asia ones). You do not know how much research they have done - You could be the first breeder they have chosen to contact and do not know our world. You don't want to put them off and send them to a BYB. So I give the first email the benefit of the doubt. I have saved in a text document a structured response that has the essential information about what I do, and what you get by getting a pup from me, health test results etc. Saves me retyping the same information over and over again. Misti, that is a time saving great idea,I also have a photo folder with pups & parents for "THAT" time, don't like that time actually, find it can be rather draining, hate parting with puppies.....as much as they create a lot of work(time)I postpone it until I know I have to get on with it.Can't help but love them all.
  15. Nobody should ever have to justify what they charge for their puppies. A person is either willing to pay the price asked, or they will go elsewhere, nobody is twisting their arm. Yeah get sick of talking
  16. We are pobably all thinking......mmm what is she looking for a mobile vet......are you?
  17. Those bottles still use normal size nipples, Many toy breeders buy the Wombaroo teats they seem to be the preferred choice. I also stock the premmie nipples. http://www.whelpingsupplies.com.au/index.p...p;productId=178 Thanks for the Links, saved will peruse t'morrow. When i did buy the Avent baby bottle & tried it........I thought hell what was i thinking...it was ridiculous,be great on a larger breed but these pups are only 90-100grams.Just been speaking to a breeder & she says she uses a kitten teet, apparently very soft & subtle.Hope I never have to use any ever again........wishful thinking eh! so have to have on hand in-case.
  18. IMHO I don't think you need to,they are not remotely interested in how much it has cost you, only of how much (less they can get you down)it will cost them.....gees if they only knew how much out of pocket we are. Most would think ....just let them mate and we are making a fortune. You would be on the phone for hours justifying the costs.Don't fret we all get these calls, then along comes the buyers that do appreciate costings & really want one and pay what you are asking.
  19. Thanks Stolz, he is still small for age but will get there. He has had a good week. I had trouble with the teet being clogged with the egg. OMG I wish SOME-ONE would invent a decent teet for toy breeds. bridie, either use less yogurt or add extra goats milk to thin it out a bit. Did you use the yoke only? You can buy premature baby bottles and teats or use the small animal bottle and teats. My pug baby was very small and still managed to use a normal baby bottle/teat. Looking back it was either egg yolk or the yogurt doing the clogging, can remember that at 1-4 am it was so so frustrating..I even went & bought a baby bottle but the teet was way too big for a baby Chi,larger breed should be ideal. If this was in minature it would be great, this day & age there should be some-thing better designed & available.I had so many teets on hand at the time, trying to get just the right flow. Also the Kara syrup, couldn't get but googled & from memory Golden Syrup was the closest thing.

  23. This neighbour came and spoke to you, other neighbours may not, they may report direct to council instead, then there will be stress.I would keep them in until you sort out a solution,re behaviourist as suggested.Imagine this situation will get worse not better when they are not controlled at the time & think they are getting away with it as acceptable behaviour. Suggest,: speak to neighbour that had the decency to speak to you & advise her that you understand how annoying this must be & what you are doing to resolve the problem, also perhaps she could let you know if "what-ever" you do is working. Let's know how you resolved it.
  24. Thanks SK,they are cheap, also note 400 thread sheets to the right on opening page Wow!!
