Perhaps you could sit down with your dad and show him Petrescue - a lot of rescues advertise their dogs on there. Once you have narrowed down the type of dog, you could contact the rescue that has the dog and ask questions about the history of the dog etc - sometimes there is a fair bit of knowledge about the dog depending on how it came to be in the rescue in the first place]

Thought I might update here - Bart went on trial last week and is halfway through the trial period it seems to be working out

He has found the perfect home too - they are a young couple, she is training for a fun run so he will get lots of walks/runs with mum and a great big back yard to play in - Oooh and a granddad who was already buying him bones and toys :laugh:

Our other rescue is also a foster failure now too, soon as I told her foster dad there was interest in her, he told me Ruby was going nowhere!!

We had a rescue dog, approx 18 mths old, put into vets for desexing and vaccinations. She wasnt desexed as when they shaved her they could see a faint scar where it should be and they found a couple of dots that could have been the tattoo.

Anyway I asked for a C5 vaccination and when we collected her, they told us we needed to come back in a month for another shot - would this be correct?

I am also not wanting to overload my dogs with unneccessary vaccinations and did assume that only one injection would be required. To go back for the second injection it will cost us $90

I wouldn't take her back for the other c5 shot. The first one should provide adequate immunity for at least a year (i use this loosely) since she is not a puppy.

Agree with this.

Thats what I was thinking. Also if her previous owners got her desexed, they probably got her vaccinated as well and seeing as she is pretty young, thought her immunity might be enough for 12 months.

I am crying for a family and a beautiful dog that I have never met, as I am so so sorry that you all had to go through this, such a tragedy

Bailey was soo lucky to have you guys in his corner looking out for him and unfortunately making the toughest decision for him, I am sure he will be running free over the bridge, waiting for his family to join him someday

Merlin had an attack of this a couple of years ago, turns out he had inhaled a small seed and was trying to dislodge it. Had to take him to the vets to get his nose flushed and he was ok after that

Thanks for that. If it doesn't settle down over the next few days I will keep that in mind and of to the vets we go.

It's definitely getting less severe so I'm hoping it was just the room spray.

We knew within about 1/2 hour that something wasnt right as he wouldnt stop doing it - so if she has gaps between sneezing then it might be something else triggering it not so much something foreign up the nose. Definitely worth monitoring her though, hope she is ok soon

Such a complete mess and poor Lennox pays with his life, I found this so distressing last night it was hard to stop crying about it and the futility of everyone trying to get a different resolution for Lennox and his family. Cannot imagine how this would feel as his family going through this

I think Lennox died some time ago and they are covering it up, he would have been suffering being away from all he knew and loved and I have doubts about the level of care he would have received whilst in the care of BCC
