  1. Wow Esky is so beautiful. I really like the idea of that fountain (especially for when we go out or go to work). What is the name of it?

Can you tell me where you bought it and if it's not too forward approx how much it was?

    Thanks :cheer:

The fountain is made by a company called "Dog It"

We purchased it from Pet Domain (not sure if they have any of those where you are)

And it cost us around $130

This has worked great for us. Esky loves it. Our cat loves it. I even tried it out when we first got it out of the box :champagne:

I found you a link for it

Cheaper than we got it

  2. We got Esky one of those pools. She absolutely loves it.

I got Esky one of these fountains

It holds 10.5 litres of water and keeps the water cold and flowing

Although Esky is a cheeky one, it didn't stop the splashing like I had hoped it would

At least I have the peace of mind when I leave her at home that she won't tip over her water bowl and die of thirst while I'm out

  3. OMG she is SOOOOOOO cute

    Look at those eyes

I know... It was the eyes that sucked me in. Who could say no to her? Bit of a problem when she is being mischievous and I have to look in her eyes and say "No"

Does your Husky bite you in play?

    Oh God yes she does

Shes getting a lot softer with her biting though

I say OUCH! or OW! when she bites me redirect her to a toy

I don't think being mouth is a sibe specific thing though. The sibe puppy I had before Esky wasn't mouthy at all

Has Mya started water digging and dipping her paws in her water bowl yet? That's one behaviour I would gladly do without :)

  4. Congratulations on your new puppy

I'm an owner of a young Sibe myself

    12 weeks old today

Head over to the Siberian Husky thread Click me

The people in there should be able to give you some great husky advice

  5. Me and Esky ran around in the rain the other day for about half an hour.

We both came inside soaked and muddy. I ended up having to give her a bath to get the mud out.

Esky also loves to dig in her water . It was SOOOOOOOOO hot the other day so we gave her a bit of gatorade in her water bottle.. Needless to say her paws are now stained orange and have been like that since TUesday.

    That husky :)

  6. Most purebred dogs don't cost $2,000. Costs range.. stud fees, health testing, whelping, vaccination, microchipping, registration. Of course if you don't vaccinate, register, microchip, take the bitch or pups to the vet or bother health testing, all the purchase price is pure profit, even if it is $100's less.

Never ceases to amaze me that people seem reluctant to pay a reasonable price for a dog but don't blink an eyelid at paying more for a television or a car. I know which of those is likely to still be in the family after 10 years. Only one of those will be something most young children interact with every day.

Many people probably do more homework on which telly or white goods or car to buy than they do on which dog to buy. Would you buy a car that someone with zero mechanical knowledge had thrown together in a backyard garage from a mix of Toyota Landcruiser and Prius parts? People do that with dogs all the time.

I have never walked into a car yard on impulse and said.. "I"ll have the blue one, it looks cute" and bought it without test driving it. That's what people do in pet shops.

Even though this was posted 1 page back

I really have to say this is one of the best analogies I've ever heard
