  1. Katie is gorgeous and agree the first pic is a cracker :p Does anyone on this forum take bad photos? :D
  2. Just absolutely stunning :p Moving to Perth on friday and have promised myself to get snorkling fit and fullfill a dream to snorkle with Whale Sharks and Manta Rays - if I saw whales as well I think I would just die on the spot from total happiness overload :D
  3. As my lot are currently in flight on route to Perth from the UK, I can confirm it is indeed a very costly process Also just wanted to add that unfortunately most rescue centres here in the UK are usually overflowing with Staffies and Staffie crosses
  4. lol, cool capture though he looks like he's just hit an invisible wall
  5. What a happy bunch having fun and Luuka's tail is just gorgeous
  6. Thanks for the cat food advice as well Order placed for delivery next week Weird to be in the UK where Woolies went bust recently, but ordering from Woolies in Oz
  7. That's great, thank-you Puts me at ease a bit knowing they don't have to have kibble there - they will have enough changes going on without a dietary one as well
  8. Found some new dog shirts in a garden centre near me at the weekend, so of course Louis just had to have some One in green and one in orange I love the little collar on them :D Here he is posing in the garden :D
  9. I've no experience of kidney problems, but just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about Pepper, hope you find a suitable diet for her soon Jo. Hugs from me and my gang
  10. My gang are arriving at Byford quarantine in 12 days time from the UK I believe you can get food delivered there from Woolworths? I've been looking on their home shopping site but I'm not familiar with the brands listed. Looking at ingredients, Nature's Gift looks like it might be ok as a RAW substitute for a week until we can get to visit them and take some food. Can anyone let me know if this will be an ok food for them ? It looks like it's mostly meat with not too many fillers Also any advice on cat food brands? My Siamese loves one which is literally just shredded chicken meat in a can, does Woolworths stock anything like this? She will be ok on the kibble they feed at Byford until we get to her, but she does like her chicken as well ;)
  11. Well we will have been in Perth a whole week by then The dogs will still be in quarantine but I would love to come along and get a doggie fix if that's ok? Tanya
  12. She is beautiful If things were too quiet I always knew my grey was up to something - usually dragging boots, dog beds and anything else she could find out into the hallway She too came straight from kennels and was pretty easy to toilet train She was also a 'failed' racer who showed no natural chasing instinct, hence we were able to take her with our then 3 cats. I spoke to her new mum the other day and she has chased down and dispatched a wild rabbit in their orchard, so I guess the instinct is still there Good luck with her, she has the most beautiful eyes
  13. One thing that's great for weight gain is raw green tripe - it stinks to high heaven, but the dogs love it and it's very good for them. Not sure of its availability in Australia though
  14. Hope all goes ok for Banshee tomorrow Jo, sound like a bit of a mystery but glad to hear it is reducing a bit now :D
  15. Snap The following is what happens when our answer phone kicks in - luckily we have no neighbours 'Blank' video, just sound http://s189.photobucket.com/albums/z49/scr...231009_1800.flv
  16. Frosted frozen ones are even better We had blooming months of snow it seemed this winter (in Scotland) and it just kept snowing so their poos were being covered up before you could find them! It's was pretty gross when it all thawed out and I had weeks and weeks worth of 4 dogs' poo to find and scrape up But overall def prefer cold to warm poop
  17. lol, thanks anyway Diva :D That looks great, thank-you Amypie They may do a special delivery if I ask nicely If not we'll get that delivered to us once we arrive and take it in with us. Many thanks too Mim, that looks like it will be great for getting some 'premium kibble' for my fussy Siamese Cheers everyone
  18. Ok thanks for the suggestion, I'll give them a try :D Are online food suppliers fairly thin on the ground in Perth? not having much luck tracking down any myself If it comes to it they may have to eat the kibble provided for a week until I can get to them and bring some food with me. They'll probably think kibble is a treat, as the only time they get it is when they manage to snaffle the cats food
  19. Ok I have to chime in here. We have just had to re-home 2 dogs and 2 cats due to moving from the UK to Australia in the next few weeks. We never thought we would be moving overseas or we wouldn't have got the dogs. It was an out of the blue job offer for my partner and we thought long and hard before making the heartbreaking decision The 2 cats were very much outside 'hunting' cats, not a problem where we live at the moment surrounded by fields and no cars, but we know in Perth we will be living in a more suburban area and they are not cats that would live happily as indoor cats. They are now both re-homed with a good friend and old neighbour in a quiet country village where they have settled and are very happy. We had to re-home our greyhound Frida (truly our 'heart' dog ) as she suffered from some anxiety, especially with loud windy noises, and we just could not imagine under any circumstance her coping with the flight to Australia. Putting her through that would purely have been for our benefit and not hers. She has been in a new home for a couple of months now, has a new doggy sister, is happy and settled and probably hasn't given us a second thought. We however cry like babies whenever we allow ourselves to think of her We also choose to re-home Fargo, my cocker. He loves the cold and snow and the freedom of the beaches and forest in Scotland, and I just couldn't see him getting the same joy and fun out of life in an urban environment where he would be restricted to on lead walks for the majority of the time Again he is now settled in another rural home, with a retriever as a play mate and goes out on loads of mountain and beach walks. He was my only one I'd had from a pup so truly miss him and his spaniel ears and kisses :D We are bringing with us our 2 rescue cresties and our siamese (pretty much an indoor cat by choice who never hunts) that we feel will cope with the change in environment the best. Sorry a bit of a long ramble, but just wanted to show that sometimes moving is unfortunately a valid, albeit heartbreaking, reason.
  20. Can anyone recommend an online shop that I could order from that delivers food in the Perth area. I would like it so when the dogs arrive at Byford for quarantine, they have some familiar food ready for them. We won't get to visit them until about week after they arrive, as we are travelling over a few days after them Just waiting to hear back from Byford to confirm what they told me when we visited back in Jan - that they are happy to feed what we supply (but not bones). Somewhere that stocks the BARF patties would be good, or any similar 'convenient' raw or cooked (but with high meat content) food. Many thanks
  21. This product is fab for ear problems, including mites. Thornit - also ships to Australia http://www.championpetsonline.co.uk/popup....6&p_i=35246 I was recommended it from a cocker forum when I got my cocker a few years back. I would use a small pinch every few weeks and never had any ears problems with him or any of my dogs. Keeps their ears clean and smelling great
  22. I know I'm a real newbie here, but just wanted to add my warmest wishes to Jed for a speedy recovery
  23. Why it's obvious, a Chinese Crested of course Small, energetic, fast and intelligent, and if you go for a hairless one then not much grooming (a bit of skin care required though) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYIjDZI7zSk Not me I hasten to add, although Louis has loved the tiny bit of agility he has done at dog class and taken to it like a duck to water
