  1. I hope you won't let the kids terrorise a dog like you let them terrorise the poor cat
  2. Someone sent me that yesterday, it's pretty cool. I'd love to get footage of my dog drinking as he sticks his whole face in and it looks nothing as delicate like that
  3. Pretty sure just Sydney, but drop her a note and see.
  4. A friend of mine is looking to talk to/interview someone (video interview) who has a rescue animal (dog or cat) for an article she's writing for the Australian Centre for Independent Jounalism, to be published on their Reportage Online website and FB. She's a lovely person, so if you want to chat with her and get the message out their about rescues, some details are on her facebook post, or PM me for her email or phone number. Her website is bernieburke.org if you want to know more about her and what she tends to write about (really broad stuff, usually!). Just throwing it out there, thought someone might be interested.
  5. OP might be a dude, but he works 9-5 plus travelling time to be added to that. Not a good scenario for a happy well-adjusted dog. Disagree. I've worked the entire time I've had dogs. As do the majority of people. +1 I don't think my guys have even realised I'm home today instead of being at work, they are going about their normal business.
  6. Hell no, you'll find a large number of us work and have dogs, and have well adjusted dogs (and many will argue we are cruel for having dogs and working) but my dogs don't live in the garage and backyard and spend "a little time with me inside", when I am home they are with me inside. Yes, they shed. That's why god invented vacuum cleaners and brooms and mops. How young were you when you had your GSD? Every GSD I've known sheds like ... well, like a dog that sheds a lot
  7. If you're near the city you probably have bats, and bats do crazy shit.
  8. Once I thought the annoying kids in the neighbourhood were throwing half eaten oranges over my fence. Turns out someone near by has an orange tree and the (giant f*cking scary) bats were getting them, sitting in my tree eating them, and would drop them
  9. If you want it to live in the garage, perhaps a dog isn't the right thing for you?
  10. That is exactly what one of my pugs does on one of the beds in our house, she's not allowed under the blankets or near the pillows so if she's in the room and someone had their back turned, she swan dives into the pillows and rolls and wiggles just like that until she's messed up the blankets and got under them and got in between the pillows. It drives my OH nuts but it cracks me up
  11. Check the snooza website to soon if they are and official stockist, I think they list them all.
  12. When I put this shirt on the other day I thought of you and Grover, so I'll think of him and send some hugs to him whenever I wear it. I know some pretty awesome pugs are up there to look after him, and other non-pug dogs too. er, sorry that was giant. fixed it now, I hope.
  13. Once again - asking questions/researching helps pet owners be informed, and better able to work with vets in getting the best treatment for their pets :) The life cycle of heartworm is such that there are no adult worms present for some months ... and it is AFAIK unsafe to treat with a preventative if adult worms are present have a look here CLICK CLICK The second link most people recommended she have a test done first??? Research the life cycle of heart worm.
  14. Why would you pay for the dog to be released when it isn't going to be released for another month? I'd not be paying for it until I have actual guarentee that I'd be getting the dog back, they are just as likely to take the money and say thanks we'll keep the dog for another few months, bring more money to pay for the additional times.
  15. I have one on main and one on limited, and the limited one states "limited register" whilst the mains one (which is blue) doesn't state anything.
  16. I was just telling what the vet said but..ok, so i'll just ignore what a QUALIFIED vet says and take advice from someone on a internet forum shall I???? Sorry mate but I have no idea who you are. I just had a pervo test done 5 days after a vaccination and it was negative Why didn't you go first for qualified advice and not a dog forum, if you think so little of randoms on the internet?
  17. Shame you're so far away ..maybe we could have a Arachnophobe's Attitude and Awareness "retreat" here ..with photography stress release opportunities ;)
  18. I bet all the arachnaphobes that looked at this (including me!) Are also the kind of people who have to touch things that say "wet paint"
  19. Yes! Where the eff does the dirt go?! One of the great mysteries of life. My pug stores half the stuff he digs up in his nose fold, so I do wonder where it goes in dogs without handy storage nose folds! In other news, I just realised in three weeks my "puppy" will be two
  20. Correct, it's not tee-tration, so why would it be tee-ter? High school science class people, it wasn't all melting stuff with Bunsen burners
  21. Only if you pronounce litre as lighter...
  22. It should't, which is the point - why are the grants for some $50k, some $20k and some $10k?
  23. I just read that and went wow! That's one lucky pup and one lucky owner.
  24. Wonder if the dog will look in the mirror and go " I wouldn't have chosen that"
