  1. I don't have a link but from experiencing this frequently in my salon, owners expressing they want a litter from Precious because everyone should have a Precious etc...... besides all the talk on costs etc the one fact I look directly at them square in the eye and ask 'would you cope if Precious was to die pre/post,during whelping due to complications?'. That one thing sends them reeling to the vet for desexing. I relate true stories of other owners who have lost their Precious and they can't change their minds fast enough. Of course if we are talking about people who want to breed multiple dogs for profit, this probably wont bother them, they will just get another dog.
  2. I have no advice ..............but a Frenchy/Dacchy mix
  3. There is a picture of the dog in this article. picture of dog here
  4. Absolutely! I think sometimes people forget that every dog is a free thinking individual with teeth & the free will to use them. No matter the size, breed, training or whatever.
  5. Squeeeeeeeeeeeezableyadoooooooooorable I love Iggies! (Ps if anyone wants an Iggy giggle use the first link underneath this post & scroll down a bit!)
  6. I assume the grandmother had come to the home where the dog & child lived? It is hard to imagine anything more completely devastating
  7. Congratulations on raising a well adjusted calm puppy who can occupy himself and is happy enough with his own company and does not display dependency issues!
  8. I find it alarming that just like dog grooming, ANYONE can open a dodgy err, doggy day care with no checks or balances in place, no required minimum standards, no qualifications required etc etc
  9. how did a thread on GSD movement & conformation turn into a discussion on GSD temperament & working ability/prey drive?
  10. Yep, they have been separated a good while ago in Europe and I believe in the US too..? They're like the "pet" shepherd, easier all around but still maintaining the size/looks.Has everyone seen video? Dingo vm Haus Gero, supposedly the GSD with ideal movement. Unfortunately we've steered quite far away from this. :/ I posted that video earlier in the thread. It might move nice for what is desired by some in the GSD but I still cringe when I watch it.
  11. I can't comment on side effects but Capstar is a fast knockdown product. It works very well for it's intended purpose but isn't really designed to give lasting protection.
  12. Did you link them to Little Legs ? I'm not sure what Jo has right now but she specialises in oldies.
  13. That reminds me ....I have groomed both an 'M' & a 'Q' in my years grooming! That is how they were said & spelled! Can't get much shorter than that.
  14. My personal choice would be Aura but I like Onyx as well. Also don't mind Shay but its a bit close to stay! Eden Aqua Zip Nora 'Ova' might work for agility lol!
  15. I'm sure someone will come along soon with more personal experience with the breed but have you looked here or here
  16. It's a drop bear! haha yeah I thought the exact same thing!
  17. I twas certainly the most action I have had in my pants for a while !
  18. Looks like we have a happy ending. I took the bat out to the big gum tree at the front of the house just after dusk. I shook it rather indignantly out of the tissues onto the trunk of the tree. It just sat there for a few minutes but every time I moved it screamed at me! So I backed off and waited with a torch. It scampered up the tree a little, screamed a bit more & flew away! So i'm really hoping that it'll be drinks all 'round and a 'you're never gonna believe this....' story at the bat bar tonight. Just confirms what we knew all along I guess. I am bat shit crazy!
  19. Thank you. That is all very interesting. I haven't actually touched it. I just tipped it into a little food container full of tissues with some air holes in the lid. It spread its wings and they look undamaged. I think the entry point is either the disused chimney above the metters stove in the kitchen, or through the old fashioned wall vents in this old house. They are a lot more porous than the modern designs. Sort of swirly patterns cut out of a metal plate.
  20. Thanks for the link. I emailed to see if their opinion concurs with fauna rescue.
  21. well, you know when you get moths flying from your wallet......
