Wingecarribe Shelter (Moss Vale). Lovely looking dogs. Have PM'd Mita but thought perhaps someone might know of someone after a Tibbie or two. They aren't on the shelters website, but they are on the volunteers FB page. https://www.facebook...123239074433470

Ian Parsons from Feather Edge.

I use food grade in the chook coops, haven't had a problem. Much cheaper than Pestene etc

I've been contacted by someone needing to rehome a 1yo BC. She sounds perfect for a sports home - flyball, agility, etc. Does anyone know of someone looking for a dog like this? She is 1yo, desexed, chipped, etc.
One of my clients might be interested, she's an obedience instructor and in to Borders. Whereabouts is the dog?

I have one of these: http://www.peugeot.com.au/offer/new-4007/ . It is seriously fantastic! I have fit many large dogs in it with no problems, it's is extremely economical and lovely to drive. I researched for ages! I needed a farm car that could fit feed bags, hay bales, dogs, crates etc and the Peugeot was the end result. Had it two yrs now, done 50,000k's and I'm still in love with it. I loved that it had the boot lip folding down so I could slide my car hating, giant sized dog and my elderly large dog in to it more easily. Also good for sliding in heavy feed bags etc, easier on my back.

Great work in your understanding that not everybody is as dog crazy as many people
I agree. I think you were very thoughtful. I always lock my dogs out for visitors too. Not everyone likes dogs around them and I don't except others to love my dogs like I do. It makes for a much more relaxing time for everyone involved :)

Some time ago I rang Bayer about the blue wax blocks.
Yes, this is the Racumin. It's a little pricier than the other stuff but gives me peace of mind. I use the baits in bait stations too.
-
I have neighbours either side that both had sick dogs from eating a poisoned rat. One was only in overnight, the other needed vet care for days.
I use a bait made by Bayer called Racumin. It kills by a build up effect so the risk of secondary poisoning is virtually nil. There is no way I'd use the more hardcore baits, Tom Cat etc. My dogs will often find already dead rats/mice etc and eat them. The farm cats also like to kill and eat dead rodents.

I don't think he is anymore. Try Ian from Feather Edge, he does a good job on mine now.

When I was a kid, my sister and I went around knocking on doors offering to wash people's dogs for some pocket money. We brought all the dogs back to our place, tied them to the balcony rail and washed them with hoses. We had about six tied up there at once.
Miraculously there was not a single incident!
I am also kind of amazed that people let us do it, especially as we were taking the dogs back to our place!
Yep, I used to do this too. Take the dogs home, tie them up and wash the poor things with a hose and sunlight soap  I also used to walk peoples dogs for them, I wouldn't have been more than 12. I had a regular GSD, Dally, Keeshonds etc. There is NO way I'd allow my daughter to do that. Times have certainly changed!

The Muscovys have the red caruncles on their face which makes them easy to distinguish.
I'd love to be able to say I could take it but can't risk a drake and really don't need more duckies
Perhaps a local vet might be able to help?
Porsche's Rescue? One of my Pekins was from her. If you contact her she might be able to put a call out on her page for someone to help catch the duck?
-
I love my black dogs! I find black chickens harder to sell, my colours always sell first even if the blacks are better quality.
-
If it's twice the size of a Pekin could it be a goose? Pekins are a big duck, they're a meat bird. Hopefully someone will find it and give it a home, poor ducky

Sorry to hear this, I hope the three of you are okay

Dog found dead in Clayton South
Police are investigating after a dog was found deceased in Clayton South on 27 March.
-
Thanks guys, I scoured her page yesterday looking for glimpses, no signs of them. They're the biggest breed of chicken you can get so they are absolutely huge. They're exhibition black Orpingtons, very docile and gentle birds but do like a lot of space.
-
Cleaning up? That's a bit of a hoarder tactic anyway. They get 'rescue' volunteers in but they end up just being enabling. Very few animals leave and more come in.
I'm so sorry Clyde you must be heartbroken.
Yeah, I'm just feeling angry now. The breed is now classed as a rare breed. So I handed them over believing she'd care for them but also go on with them. Filthy little waste of space she is.
I don't even like foxes, but that fox in that tiny pen is a disgrace.
I reckon she is seeing that Dane as a money spinner come maturity.
-
Hope the person who took the photos has offered to help clean the place up and rehome the animals.
Why should they? They're doing the animals a service by alerting the authorities who can then do their job!
-
Thanks KC! I've phoned the RSPCA and left my details and the breed, doubt I'll hear back
That Dane pup looks suspiciously like a one of the litter being advertised a month or so back. Will go back through the pet pages and can see if I can find the photos.
-
Sas, do you know who is taking the animals, who can I contact? I want to get the chooks back. I gave a lot of them to her for free as she said she wanted to get in to showing and I was just trying to give her a good start. I'm willing to buy them back.

Mmz KieraLee
google search will take you from there if you add her real name ;-)
Oh No! I didn't know it was her! I've sold her birds before They were gorgeous hand raised Orpingtons. She is on all my local FB pages. She was going to take one last bird but then I noticed she was always taking on animals so I didn't follow it up as I worried she was onselling what I had already given her. I feel sick now thinking about how my beautiful, hand reared babies have been living. She seemed nice enough when we met.
-
One one of the posts it looks like she's in Thirlmere? It just says Australia, I wonder if it's the one here in Wollondily NSW. There are a lot of 'rescue' type hoarder ppl in that area. I see them all the time collecting animals from FB pet pages then selling them on the next day. They say they're rescue so ppl also give them animal goods and also tag them to any pet in need. So sad

I think Sandgrubber meant OCD as in osteochondritis.

I have good fencing, also electric wire running along the inside but still needed a containment system for one of my dogs. I chose Hidden Fence after researching a lot of them and had them install it for me too, have been very happy with it. It was about $1k supplied/installed for a one acre yard. http://www.hiddenfence.com.au/ You can buy the system and install it yourself though.

The shelter has split them up. The younger, cuter looking one has been adopted. Poor old Merlin is still there.
