We could only give her two more weeks of life, I just hope they were happy for her. She had two weeks of love, walks, treats and cuddles. Two weeks was all it took for her to shuffle into my heart and make herself comfy. It breaks my heart that we couldn't do more for her, so many "ifs".... "If we didn't have other fosters and a Grey of our own, we could've just kept her" "If we had more foster carers (and one experienced with aggression) she could've been saved" "If we had more time, maybe she would've settled down" "If we could just find the right home for her, she might improve" It was the hardest decision I've ever had to make, I hope she could understand that and forgives me. Even though I know we made the right decision, the guilt is still eating at me. I've never had to have a perfectly healthy, young dog put down before and it was a hell of a lot harder than I expected (even knowing that we could never rehome her safely). At least a few positives came out of it, we've learnt from the experience and with that new knowledge we can better help other Greys. One more pic, probably my favourite...... olly Posted October 18, 2007 Share Posted October 18, 2007 I've been lucky, the 2 I've had with serious "issues" I was able to return to the racing owner knowing they wouldn't be put down. Both were from the same litter coincidentally. You gave Molly a chance, and that's far more than most of them get.
