Lovely pics everyone so far.

Ash - that's a brilliant action shot with the 50mm, how far away were you from Shensei? 'Cause the focus is really nice for a wide-open shot.

ArtyFarty - love your happy smiling dog enjoying a wonderful romp in the river, there's a lot of feeling there! :D

JAG - nice shot!

Ruffles - just lovely :mad

+++

Not sure I'll be able to keep this up, but I'm going to start this off strong!

I'm so pleased with how this turned out :rolleyes:

This is how I achieved it using 3 separate exposures (actually that was difficult in itself, having Chester not move :mad ) = HDR

I did a few more but this one just makes me smile :mad

CM - great job on HDR with a living subject. :mad It can be hard to do it over three exposures. Chester was a great (still) model :D

I was about 4 meters away from her. I had thrown the stick in the garden a few times and she was jumping in the same spot each time so I new I could duck down in position and get the shot as I knew roughly where she was going to jump out.

I might start a thread for photo a day failures. There's a couple of funny ones in the outtakes. :rolleyes:

AnimalMad - that is what the challenge is all about. Even if you are tired, grumpy, busy, whatever, it is a challenge to simply take a photo of something that catches your eye or interests you. It may not be a world beater but each time you pick up a camera and use it, you are learning. :rolleyes:

I think everyone in here has put in a great effort today! I can't wait to see what the rest of the month brings. Awesome job everyone! :D

Welcome to the "new photographers" club!! You sound like me -- I took about 300 photos today in the space of about an hour! I take photos of anything and everything and I usually take a bucketload of photos from different angles. I am still learning, so it's all experimentation for me!!

Great photo!!!!!!

Lolly teef (managed to do this shot before OH ate them all).

Recently added an old/new Canon 300d to my stash so giving it a test run.

I LOVE this photo!! What a cute concept!
