Good luck Ptolomy and Bedazzled

Tassie, RS enjoys celebrating her 21st ;) Glad you had a good time RS, it was a fun night :)

 I am soooo innocent and naive and trusting  (not). But that sounds like a good plan ... not sure that I coiuld get away with it though - although people do go prematurely grey, don't they ... but wrinkled .... - perhaps not.

I have just been to the new My Pet Warehouse that opened in Osborne Park over the weekend.

Anyone Perth based wants to buy Black Hawk dog food they stock it there :)

Whereabouts in Osborne park is it? And do they sell animals as I won't go there if they do.

Bedazzled and I fly out early tomorrow morning with the boys to compete in Melbourne on the weekend.

Fingers crossed it is not bucketing down eek1.gif

have a great time you two, best of luck

Ness so sorry to hear you're still having issues with Kenz, I really hope you get a good result in the end with her :grouphug:

Its on Frobisher st, they dont sell animals, I wouldnt go there either if they did :)

Hi and welcome luvanrensburg :) I don't know much about Westies, but certainly saw plenty of them when living in Scotland :D Looking forward to seeing pics of your new pup :)

Thanks Nariko :)

Had a brilliant 2hr walk with the dogs at RV's yesterday - she tried to kill us by taking us up and down some hills, but I survived  The dogs had a blast and Louis did some great pointing and got very keen with the scent of Roos and ducks – he’ll make a great gundog one day

They are pooped today, and poor Daisy has gone to the groomers when all she wanted to do was sleep in her bed all day

Worst nightmare - leaving a dog for 6 hours while your at the office and coming home to a dog on three legs. No weight on the leg at all .

Oh crap, crap and crap. Sorry to hear that :(

Rommi goes in for a check up in just under 2 weeks. She is still a little limpy. I thought by 6 weeks she maybe wouldn't be but not sure so will check when we go in. She has been a total little trooper with her recovery and I couldn't ask for a better patient :)I know she wants to run - she has the freedome of the dog yard now so does a few little run steps but you can see she is itching for a zoom. No zooming until after her check up!!!

I wouldn't be surprised that Rommi is still a little limpy OSS. Kenz had significantly less done with her knee in comparison and she was still definitely limpy at 6 weeks. Physio said they don't have the same drive in the surgery leg for ages. Also if you read all the information on lists like ortho dogs there are plenty of TPLO dogs at 12 weeks who are still having uneven gait issues.

Kenz's specialist got back to me yesterday morning after I emailed him Monday evening. He isn't totally sure what is going on with Kenz however has said if the lameness is being caused by the patella slipping (which I suspect it is because when I came home and massaged her she was good to go again) then because there is still instability and further surgery can fix that then that is what should happen. :(.

Kenz is back to see him in just under a fortnight so until then I have completely eased up. She had a nice walk/swim at the beach yesterday and a nice long walk this morning. There is still a slight chance if she rebuilds the muscle then it will stay in place.

Not liking the wait and see though :(.

I also figure they are not as tough as some breeds so are more likely to be a bit limpy. Around her knee is still a little swollen, and becasue of the plate her leg looks wider.

The other thing I have noticed is she seems to walk with her knee a little bandy. I am hoping this is just because she is not yet using it properly or because she ahs lost some muscle.

I have a real thing about legs and straight legs and it will drive me positively batty to have to watch her running around with a bandy looking leg that started off straight!!!!!! ON the scheme of things though that is minor I know - particularly when you are going through what youa re with Kenz, Ness but with no hair to hide it, it might just get to me a little.

I have also come to the conclusion that she will eb retired from the show ring. Due to her little bones, thin skin and lack of coat her leg will look abnormal and the plate easily noticable. So no more showring for her.

 hey you don't have the dog the first specialist named princess paws because she was so wimpy . Actually the one who did the surgery reckons she is a little bit wimpy to. And she still refuses to walk up the stairs :(. Going down is ok, going up she will either come up half way or won't at all and will have a tantrum downstairs until I get her. Not so sure what that is about she won't even come up with me carrying yummy food and Ness coming up the stairs.

Kenz is just frustrating me she has had no more 3 legged episodes since Monday now will be interesting to see how she is when I get home from work today. Fingers crossed.

Bummer about the show ring and Rommi. Yep Kenz has hair to cover any of hers - although its far from completely grown back yet. I think I remember something about the TPLO surgery and the leg not being 100% straight because they have to change the angle of the tibia (I may be thinking about something else though).
