Abbey, our little 'squashed Rotty' has gone, six days shy of her twentieth birthday. She was only a little dog but she had a big life. Abbey faded from black and tan to black and beige but her coat always shone. Her eyesight was going and she was deaf, though funnily enough, she could still hear the food being dished up.

Abbey was a character. She was aunty Abs to many foster puppies and she was extremely fond of Noah, our ancient Turkish Van. He was fond of her too.

Abbey was Queen of the Doona and loved snuggling. You had to make the bed around her. She loved her squeaky and her little teddy. She was never sick and enjoyed

wandering around the houseyard.

Abbey was delightful and a real ambassador for Mini Dachshunds.

It is impossible to come to terms with the fact that she is no longer here. I keep waiting for her woof to let me know she'd climbed in the sleeve of a jacket and wanted out. She made us laugh with her antics and there are a million good memories. Her passing has left a huge void.

RIP my funny little old girl.
