My friend has a dog thats on antibiotics and has a slight case of the runs. As they are flying tomorrow (she has no computer access atm) she was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to something that will help him so he doesnt turn up at the other end covered in poo.

The dogs should not be flying if it's not 100% well. It's certainly irresponsbile to fly an animal that has the runs and could pose a risk to others on the flight, not to mention baggage on board.

If a vet is certain that the cause of the Diarrhea, is the AB's, they may be willing to dispense some medication to stop it, otherwise the owner will have to wait until the stomach settles.

I certainly wouldn't be flying a dog that isn't 100% no matter what the cause.

Dogs tend to dehydrate during transit by air and diarrhoea dehydrates as well. Double jeopardy really.

Is it possible for them to fly the dog at a later date when it is completely well?

what's he on antibiotics for???

I completely agree, he should not be flying when not well. not just for the runs but also for whatever he is being treated for.

it would be irresponsible of the company flying him to accept him too.

Wouldn't want my dog on his flight.
