I'm a bit of a sucker for the Bluetick Coonhound. I can remember meeting one years ago at the Parkes show, he was just spectating that night.

Gosh Nekhbet, what a beautiful working dog. I'm torn between my love of Dobes and love of the herding breeds, a Beauceron would be an awesome option.

I have a relative (my dads cousin) in Canada who breeds Canadian Eskimo Dogs.

Don't know how to put pics up but easy to find if Googled. They seem to vary in appearance but look alot like Huskies and Mals with a much larger variety of colours.

I have always secretly lusted after an Otterhound. Apparently they are more stubborn than an Irish Wolfhound. WOW, makes me go weak at the knees contemplating a dog more stubborn than Humpty.

I really like Kooikerhondji's and Tamskans.

Kooikers are recognised by the Dutch KC, UKC, ARBA and is in the AKC Foundation Stock Service program so may one day be recognised in the AKC.

Tamaskans are not recognised anywhere but have their own register and many clubs all over the world. Any one know if there are any in Oz yet? According to the very knowledgable Wiki there are meant to be some here :p

Yeah it's very creepy how they can do that......something about being able to crawl through tight rock spaces to get to the birds....still creepy

Yeah they are extremely flexible. They can fold their head back to touch their back and their front legs can go out to the sides at 90 degree angles (like human arms).

The breed has serious health problems. Lundehunds have a syndrome that screws up their digestion. Every Lundehund has it because the gene pool is SO small, but some are more severely affected than others. It is not very nice and most dogs don't live as long as they should because of the effects of this syndrome. If they don't outcross this breed to try to correct the problem, I expect the breed will die out.

We asked a neighbour to let ours out while we were away for the day ONCE!! they let him in, let him stand there for ages TRYING to get them out for the loo,.................... he gave up and they hung on for many hours! NO WAY were they leaving the house to go out in the garden with him, and they knew him for years!!!
