So sorry for your loss Bartok, I lost my 9yr old male shepherd beginning of Feb (also suddenly) and I know what your going through

As a wise DOLer said so me - allow yourself time to cry and come here as often as you need, there are plenty of people here to talk to and help you through your grief

I am doing ok but not my husband

He doesnt even want to take the other

Furkids to the park for their run. They are

Quiet dogs and my Shep was full of life

And energy. So it is very sombre at the park

My house is quieter and my protector is gone

My OH said he felt the loss of our shepherd harder than any other we have lost (I felt the same) - I've never seen him cry before ;) . They call these special dogs Heart Dogs and I know why - there's a certain place in your heart reserved just for them, and when they're gone they leave a huge space that takes a very long time to heal. I'm still crying today over my boy as there is always something that reminds me of him, but as my DOL friends keep telling me it's ok to cry (and every week there's not as may tears). I found coming here and talking about it a huge help too

We both cried this morning. Our Lab is lost without our Shep

We started watching a video we took a few weeks ago of

Sylvester singing. My Lab Rocky came running and was all

Over the ipad. He started barking and bouncing with excitement

So that broke our hearts

So sad - animals also grieve and I think it makes it so much harder for you and your OH to see :D

I'm struggling to look at photo's at the moment, watching a video would be very hard :(

What an adorable goofy face!

So sorry Bartok. What lovely, caring owners you were to think of a way to make his last moments special, in the sun and with his ball, and how great of your vet to go above and beyond.

Run free Sylvester, Kuges will keep you company.

Bartok - I've only just read this and I'm so sorry for the loss of your beautiful boy.

I hope you're doing okay. It's such a tough time, especially when it's unexpected.

Sashy and I send you big hugs - and Sashy sends a big kiss to her 'other' mum.

Thanks Kelly and beautiful Sasha

I am doing ok

My husband is the one really grieving

He is a quite man and spends alot of time at home alone with

the dogs, so he is struggling, but today he smiled when he saw

the Ashes. I think he is glad our boy is home

It is a week today that we said goodbye to you

beautiful boy

Daddy and I can at least smile now and talk about you

without falling into a heap, but we are still lost without your

presence. We miss your impromtu singing and acting like a wuss

at the smallest thing.

Love you Silly Billy

We are feeling the same Bartok.

The knot in our stomachs is easing and we don't fall apart as much when we talk about Max.

There is still that void and I'm sure with time will ease.

Deek
