I would like to teach Our dog 5 Tricks for a course that I am planning to do. (That is the minimum requirement)

Sit, stay and drop are concidered Basic commands and not tricks so what would you say would be your top 5 basic "Tricks" you would start your dog off with.

In that case you also shouldn't teach any trick that would erode a sit/stay, such as beg, high five etc.

I don't really see an issue though. If the drop and sit is on cue and you ask for it and the dog plays dead instead, you just don't reward. It's all about stimulus control. If the drop is a really new behaviour then I wouldn't do a roll over or anything like that, but if the dog knows the drop and it's on cue I don't see an issue with it.

Havent been able to master the drop yet.. Soon as I bring the treat to the ground she just stands up and trys to get at it haha

move it around between her front legs, if she stands up put it further back, and don't teach beg if you want to do obedience. Took me months to unteach beg from my boy after OH thought he was clever. I ask for sit, he'd sit, then beg *sigh*
