rottywoman is it ok to feed puppy food to adults? because i do .someone told me puppy food is more value for money even for adults becxause it contains higher fat and protein is this true?

Ok, We use a combination, due to different needs of different dogs.

The Pomeranians all get Eukanuba 'Small Breed'.

The German Shepherds, One of the show dogs gets fed on Pro Plan, as it keeps him firm and dryer than any other dry food.

The other show dogs are fed on Pedigree Performance, which I swear by.

The house dogs (all the old retired kids), and some of the kennel dogs are fed on Coprice Working Dog Formula chicken & Rice.

We tried Supercoat, but all their coats went dull & they got really dry skin.

Our kids dont get a lot of dry food. As their diet is 99% Barf. When they do, it is soaked, therefore it has already swollen before it hits their stomach.

Here is our diet, for both ther Poms and the Shepherds.

Bones for Breakfast every morning.

Dinner-

Monday: soaked dry food, Fresh Chicken Mince (no preservatives) & raw beef liver.

Tuesday: Bones

Wednesday: Soaked Dry food, Fresh Red meat (No preservatives), Sardines in oil.

Thursday: Bones

Friday: Soaked Dry food, Fresh Chicken Mince & Red meat mixed together (No preservatives).

Saturday: One whole chicken carcass each, the Poms get a chicken wing each.

Sunday: Bones

This diet, combined with daily excercise works great for us There is nothing better than happy healthy dogs.

Yep dobermandave, it is absolutely fine as long as you give them less than what you would of a normal adult based food, lots of people also feed puppy formulas to bitches in whelp and after...

your friend is right :rolleyes:

for example if i feed an adult 7 cups of normal then i should feed the adult 4 or 5 cups of puppy food.

Bailey has never looked as healthy as what he looks now I have changed him over to eagle pack. His allergies have basically dissapeared too.

The only dry food Henry likes is Eukanuba puppy. We have tried all the rest. I am going to try Eaglepack though because I prefer the sound of that one.

We feed our dogs natural balance lite energy,

we used to feed them regular but one is a bit overweight

so we put them all on lite energy :-)

it's a 100% natural lamb and rice formula,

so it's easily digestible and it's made here in WA

(and the oil blend is really good for their coats)

I prefer to get a food that is made fresh here in australia

we used to cook our own food for our dogs in the start

but their poos used to be very wet and smelly, where with the nat bal

even if they poo inside the poo doesn't smell or stick to the carpet

which does happen at times when it's cold outside in the winter and they don't want to go outside :-)

Fitz and Chade (our cat) are both on eukanuba. It is harder to find euk cat food, but he looks so good on it

Fitz also does really well on euk, and his health is improving dramatically since he has been on it.

We also feed Fitz Natures Gift individual servings packets, and the cat gets a tin of Dine everyday (he really prefers the dogs food though, so I am hoping that Natures gift release a tinned cat food soon ).

our dogs eat supercoat. The little one gets the small dog variety, our younger bc gets the regular supercoat (chicken i think), and our older bc gets the lite & mature mix.

I tried them on eukanuba, royal canin, and iams but supercoat is the only brand they would all eat.
