I think their biggest issue will be leaving with only one of these pups - they are such nice little munchkins in every respect.

If I had the room and the money i would grab Joe as well ;)

Petey's lovely new forever family are totally besotted with their little man - and he has a big sister to play with too!

:cheers::champagne::cheer:

enjoy your new family Petey

Seriously... these pups are good looking AND appear to be extremely temperamentally sound... I'm thrilled with how they have turned out.

I'm sure that they turned out nice partly because their mum Storm was such a nice natured girl - even though she really didn't want them, once her calcium levels were sorted and she had enough milk to feed them, she did a great job for a few weeks before letting us know it was our turn to do some of the work... lol!

T re fostering puppies. A while ago I put my feelers out to some rescue groups about fostering, one group has sent me an email months later about some pups they'd like placed (larger X breeds) and I'd love to help them out as I'm foster free at present but I wonder how much more work is a pup from an adult? I work shift work (live with another shift worker) so whilst there is someone generally home, there are times when there's not. I don't want to go and say yes to this group if perhaps I don't have the time and commitment required for a pup (I think they're young as well) and I know you specialise in this.

Puppies can be as much work as you make them really.

The other thing you need to be mindful of is your own dog's needs - she is a toy breed, so larger crossbreed pups may be a bit much for her - they can be really rough when they play! Small breed pups could be a goer though... she'd love bossing them about... lol!

I've fostered entire litters of large breed pups while holding down a fulltime job - the trick is spending as much quality time with them as possible, so that they learn that human contact is a good thing, and also a little bit of basic training goes a long way too. My own dogs are larger breeds, so they really enjoy getting silly with large breed pups - they can do all the crazy play stuff with impunity when they have some pups to entertain - we call it "socialisation training"... *grin*

If you are hankering for another foster, maybe give varicool a call and see if she has any more fosters for you. I'm sure she can find something...

Thanks for that! Not hankering for more at the moment, dealing with with devil dog still but was going to help this rescue group out if they were really stuck.

I agree with Lilly about the camping thing, its ok if there is lawn but we where camped on a hill in 100 acres with strong winds and lots of dust :(

OMG!!! Look at that awesome "beg"!!!

The kids taught him that, now if he sees food he runs up and starts begging, not good :D

Some more pics

friends had there old bus up there and Bones loved playing on the steps

It is good! Much better to beg politely like that than jump all over everyone asking for it... *grin*

In that last photo Bones could be mistaken for a camp dog... hehe! Maybe he got that from hanging around my Pickles... errr!

Bones had his vaccination today and now weighs in at 4.5kg.

There was a gorgeous Great Dane there that Bones loved playing with. he was so gentle even when Bones was jumping up and latching onto his lips
