Today I finally, finally bought my D700.

And this afternoon I experimented in the low light.

I'm in love

Did you get a new lense or you using one of your current ones? You had the D300 yea? I just had a quick read of the D800 review the other day. It's looks pretty schmick too!

Yep, just my normal lenses - I was using the 24mm. Which is so much wider on the full frame :D

I have the D300s, which will now become my back up body, I really need two bodies for weddings.

ETA There was no way I'd be able to afford the D800, so I wanted to grab a D700 before they are all gone.

Good choice, they have come down a bit in price too, I guess they do that when the new ones are about to be released! When my friend got married her photographer was shooting her wedding with a D80  And had no back up camera and guess what thank god it was after all the important stuff at the reception her camera went kaput, so that was the end of the pics for the night.

Yes, the detail in the eyes, the difference in the background, the lack of noise - it's all awesome.

:happydance:

And Kirislin - yep, the kids are pretty brilliant with the camera. It's even possible to shoot Lola on 1/80th. Sid, on the other hand...

A few more. Same subject matter, but I still can't get over how well it goes in low light. I should take some side by side comparisons with the D300.

All of the above were ISO 3200.
