I know of One Schipperke in SA, one in QLD and two in Vic that gained their Supremes on the weekend.

Looks like Canine councils will be busy making new pedigrees etc in the next couple of weeks.

I feel for the person that does these only at the end of the month at VCA.

BB

and one Schipperke in NSW. Also 4 Bearded Collies got their Supreme in NSW with one getting her Grand & Supreme on the same day and did it in style with 2 BIG's on the weekend...

Exhibition in a veteran's class (where they can be desexed) would be proof of life.

Actually i would hate to see that ,i have seen dogs come out in this class that should have been left at home.

I have a dog that is a grand & meet all the requirements for a Supreme & i would never drag him around the ring in that class ,he was a wonderful dog but age has now got the better of him & his place is at home .

Titles change & you move on with it,shoulda.woulda.coulda always happens.

There are many dogs out there worthy of the title just like before the Grand title there where many before that just as deserving you have to draw the line somewhere .

Infact i have a number of dogs from the 90's that meet all the requirements in an era that was full of superior dogs & breed numbers but there achievements aren't any less important than my 2 dogs that gained there Supreme's on the weekend.

Each era comes with new titles, achievements & changes whether it be for better or for worse .

You are right. I have too. But I'd rather see them there than attempting to get a CC against young dogs in the prime of life.

There will be no right or wrong answer & i will be honest & would love my boy to get his Supreme ,he has won over 50 big & countless BIS .

But then i look at other dogs before the Grand or Supreme was brought in that are just as worthy .

I just feel we should embrace the new titles for what they are & not lower the quality or the wins of dogs before these titles where brought in.

I certainly now in my breed back in the 90's the numbers where massive & the classes where full of outstanding dogs,to win a CC was something special & i will never forget that ,good dogs from the past are just as special & should never be forgotten because they don't have GRD/Sup at the front .

5 Cocker Spaniels (Group 3) to date that I know of - 1 in QLD, 2 in NSW and 2 in Vic - am very proud that 3 of them are from our kennel (2 in Vic and 1 in QLD)

With first South Aus and Tasmania shows this weekend expect to add to this tally.

Gundog Best in Group lineup at Shepparton last weekeend was Supreme ! A beautiful lineup of dogs brought out for their final CC - full of quality.

Cheers

Merryn

in South Australia has his supreme

Can't have - has to wait until tomorrow here to get the challenge AFTER july 1st to qualify. I know of at least two other dogs who would have got their supreme if the ruling was FROM 1st July and not AFTER 1st July.

So - the person on FB that is claiming their SA dog is a Supreme CH, is jumping the gun just a little bit....

If you check the left hand banner on DOGZOLINE you will find a heading under Poinstcore for Show Results. Click on that and you will find that there were 5 mid week All Breeds shows in the NT, NSW & Qld. We regularly support the shows in Alice Springs. Gibbs was awarded Best in Group under Gundog specialist Mrs Fay Harris, giving him the challenge needed. exhibitors, Bianca emailed a With that final requirement in hand, and Gibbs’ very sizable collection of Best Exhibit in Show certificates, his application form was lodged at the Dogs SA office on Friday, 6th July at 13.50pm by my receipt. Incidentally, the title application was supported by 3 of his metropolitan All Breeds Best Exhibit in Show certificates. That he may have been the first here is not important. That a dog of his calibre has been acknowledged by so many judges is a tribute to him.

Gibbs IS an outstanding IWS and Gundog, as is indicated by his ranking of #2 Gundog in Australia and #1 in South Australia in the Dogzonline Showdog of the Year Pointscore. He was #1 AKC TopDog when he came to us in 2008 and was invited to The Garden in 2008 and 2009.

We been dedicated to the Irish Water Spaniel for more than 30 years and make no apology for being immensely proud of our dog.

Not if they are showing interstate already. There were shows in Alice Springs today that the owners of the above dog travel to and support on a very regular basis.

As you should be very proud. My apologies - I thought the person meant the dog had been awarded in South Australia. I don't think anyone would be saying that a dog worthy of qualifying for the supreme isn't worthy of the title, which wasn't my intention. You should be very proud of your dog with such a list of great achievements. Obviously a worthy example for the title.
