They all look so fat and healthy.......awww I have only used ribbons in the past but these babies were way too small and it was too awkward so I waited, can't do my own nails but I thought I could do a few dots on moving targets...nope :laugh: Thought about painting their nails but had less chance of that happening I haven't been game enough to let them go longer than 2 hours day/night for a feed since they were so little, glad my lack of sleep has paid off so well :D Edited November 18, 2012 by Andisa Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I renewed it yesterday (i put it in the same place just above the tail), and they squirmed around, so now there's different colours everywhere LOL They're looking good Andisa :) . Fordogs Posted November 20, 2012 Share Posted November 20, 2012 Well Bella whelped her litter yesterday all 12 of them but sadly 5 didn't survive, 4 were born breach and had placental detachment with no chance of survival. Bigger than I expected with only 2 but nothing at all like she was with 9. She has gained between about 3.5 and 4kg since mating but some of that is condition. She was about 16.5kg when I mated her which is about 1kg under where she normally sits and yesterday was 20.1kg. I am hoping that means that the pups are not much bigger than last time if I take into account the condition she has put back on (definitely feels better over her ribs than she did) With the 9 puppies she gained between 9 and 10kg. A couple of other breeders that felt and saw her thought more than 2 as well as she is visibly pregnant but just shows you never can tell. I just want a nice girl. And I'm not asking much that nice girl needs to be nicely put together, have a temperament and drive suitable for dog sports and able to herd like it's mother. piper Posted November 22, 2012 Share Posted November 22, 2012 I so hate this waiting! I have to say they are active little bugger. I only ever felt tiny movements with the last litter. I guess with 9 there was no room for running around. These guys fell like they are having a party in there. I think they are going to hit the ground running the way they are working those legs. LOL We have joked I should sell them for more as they have been to an agility seminar with an international presenter and been "started" on sheep as well. Amazing what can be done from in the womb. I mean how can we not get all of that in the 1 package easily???? LOL Still no temp drop. I have had a word with ehr and asked for it in about 6 hours as I will then be home from work and it should mean whelping in a reasonable hour of the day tomorrow, lol. Will be ringing the repro vet today for a chat to double check instructions of when they think I need to get her checked if nothing has happened. piper Posted November 24, 2012 Share Posted November 24, 2012 (edited) Temp was a full degree lower this morning and I have so far removed her from under 2 bushes and behind the lounge. LOL So sometime tonight is my guess! She was booked in for a progesterone test this morning but I rang them and said she is now at 36.5 and nesting so they agreed it was not worth it as it is obviously dropping and ring tomorrow morning if no action tonight. Right now I have installed the baby gate and shut her in the room with the whelping box. Lights are off and the room is nice and cool so I am leaving her be for a while to just relax in there.
