It had only just began to grow nicely before it fell out too! His butt hair kept growing though Dallies shed all year round don't they? It looked like a snow storm here but at least it's not all year! I'd be so worried about trimming the tip of a tail wrong! Steph they look completely innocent! She's not even slightly remorseful of her naughty antics. Last night I turned the drawers containing my wool around so she couldn't get to it. She spent most of the night when she thought we weren't looking, trying to figure how to get back into it. Didn't take her too long to work out where the drawers went. aliwake Posted February 18, 2014 Share Posted February 18, 2014 Loving seeing all the pics - Can't believe how big Nala is now! and I actually like Nova's coat a bit shorter Lisa - it makes his black spots 'pop' :) Your girl is gorgeous Terri! Sares, that pic of them looking out the door is so cute!! Willow is looking very fit and elegant! Those innocent faces are hilarious Steph! Though I'm sure the hole isn't... I took some pics on Nixon's birthday on the weekend, but I actually used the real camera for once, so will have to find my cable and see if there are any good ones. I ended up getting him a kong extreme (black) frisbee, which he loves and is holding up really well so far. He also got a monkey with no squeakers for playing with inside, and a little rubbery ball with soft spikes all over it - it's really bouncy and is holding up surprisingly well! He really likes it actually. He also got a really cute soft tiger toy from a friend at the dog park. Some people are so lovely! He had a very nice day - we went swimming in the river at the uni, where I discovered he doesn't actually know how to jump in the water - he needs lessons from Gus!! Then he napped for a few hours to recover, then we went to the park where he made a new lab friend, and they played bitey face beautifully together for ages - then they went swimming again - together! She was a much stronger swimmer than Nix and swam out ridiculously far to get a huge log that was floating past. Then Nix decided to help her bring it in a couple of times - was very cute/funny! LisaCC Posted February 18, 2014 Share Posted February 18, 2014 Thanks Aliwake, yes you can see the little spots more when it's shorter, I just noticed all those pictures are of his "spotty side", the other side of him has bigger splodges so they are easy to see when he coat is long too. Happy Birthday Nixon for the weekend! I can't believe he's a year old already! Sounds like you had a good day, that photo is very cute too! Did the new lab friend teach him how to dive into water? Those little spikey balls are great! We have a blue one that smells like blueberries! But don't leave them out in the sun, it will melt into a misshapen football shape. PS: Ok it took AGES to find a photo of Novas splodgy side, he obviously very very much favours laying on it. He is gorgeous from any angle :) Where we normally swim is at a boat ramp, so he just walks into the water, and that's where he was swimming with the other lab, so she couldn't teach him how to dive unfortunately! I have no doubt she'd nail it though - she's only 7 months old, but very confident in the water! And a much stronger retrieving drive than Nix I'd say too. I love how in that pic she's looking at Nix as if to say 'what the hell are you doing with my stick?!' I can't believe he's a year old either... Dory the Doted One Posted February 19, 2014 Share Posted February 19, 2014 At home, she's a naughty nightmare...she's been busy trying (and succeeeding) to work out how to foil my attempts at blocking my wool stash. She just wants to be 'doing' stuff ALL the time, which is fantastic! But very painful when you have to do other things like...cook tea...sleep... I've had to resort to crating her overnight again. Now her training, training is going great! I have to remember to not be so serious (and develop better coodination :laugh: ). Taken to writing down a journal so I can remember what we worked on, what worked, what needs work etc. I want to start trialling her at some point and I hope that can be this year. Which is bold, because most rotts I know didn't start until at least 2 years old...Willow is only 10 and half months old. She's a horror to walk on the street also, but getting better now she's no longer so cute and less people want to approach her for cuddles. Her interest in randoms while out walking is dropping as she's getting ignored by them. Here's a piccie taken of her at first day back at training....she had dashed off to go and see what the crouching person with the weird looking face was doing. :laugh: She did come back when called..on that occasion. His leg lump is a totally harmeless histiocytoma, which BTW I got off the phone to the vet (who was quite brisk and businesslike) and googled "histiosarcoma" by accident. HUGE MISTAKE. I Had a heart attack. Anyway, I called back to double check he hadn't just given me awful news and all good, just a boring old skin lump. Of course its on his rear ankle so he knocks it and gets it wet and gross and the two options were leave it and see or lop it off. I figured rather than go under twice, may as well have it off now. AND THE WART WITH IT :D :D So he's not allowed anything after 8pm Sunday. Not sure how to break that to him... I felt awful booking him in, my hands were shaking and I felt awful, relieved now though. Might even let the other one sample the new daycare we've found and have a day of peace... When I'd finished & turned around I was to see this. I wasn't overly confident in how quick the vet looked at them, if he needs them done later we will go down that path. Nix is actually having surgery (again) next friday, because some of his dissolvable stitches haven't fully dissolved, and he has these irritated lumps on his scar. it looked fine for about 2 months then just wasn't Pretty bummed we'll have to go through the cone debacle again.
