Vet On. Gold Coast

We lived on the Gold Coast for a number of years and used Chris Dixon at Oxenford Vet Surgery. It is only a tiny little surgery, but Chris was great with all our animals (multiple dogs & cats) and much cheaper than most of the other vets in the area. Also very personable.

Before that we used Ross Evans at Tallebudgera Vet clinic, he was an excellent surgeon (IMO). Quite a gruff man, but great with the animals.

Dr John at The Point Vet at Paradise Point is really lovely. He did locum work at our normal vet and when we had to get our 13 year old put to sleep he came to the house which considering how much I was crying and sobbing on the phone a wonder he could work out what I was saying.

Doesnt hurt that he is really good looking as well!!

I also refer people to Dr John from The Point Vet. He is personable, able to articulate to owners, is kind to his patients and is extremely helpful with advice. I've referred a number of Shar Pei people to his clinic and the feedback has always been positive.

John was an honours student, he worked at most of the emergency vet centres in Brisbane as well which means he has contacts with specialists if necessary.

I live down near Tweed Heads and travel to Robina to see Dr Sue Redding at ExcelVets. I chose her as she was pretty much the only vet that would 'work with me' on certain things that I wanted flexibility on when my girl was a puppy - I had only just moved here from interstate so was basing this on many phone calls and word of mouth. I've been happy with her and I've heard of lovely stories where she has rang owners on a Sunday from her mobile to check on how their pet is going (if something serious had happened). I'm possibly moving further South (toward Kingscliff) this year so I may reconsider continuing with that vet.. it seems all the great vets or those recommended by DOLers are up North.. I'm contemplating going to Andrew Bullen of Alpha Animal Hospital at Coolangatta as a friend of mine with the same breed has been seeing him for 30 years and happy... It's so important to find a vet you are comfortable with and trust will do the best job if something serious occurs.
