Plastic chewies

Yoli (10 mo old Springer) likes to chew on plastic and has killed a dozen or more pens and a variety of other stuff. She seems to be happy with discarded tooth brushes.  Is that OK? Or is it worth trying to 'wean' her off onto some commercial product like nylabone?

I think that's not really a problem unless that bothers you since you gotta buy a new pen and toothbrush again and he's not swallowing the item. Just make sure to remove the ink when he's chewing the pen but right now I'm also thinking that what if he would poke his eyes while chewing the pen..that would be so dangerous so maybe just get the sharp objects and give him rubber toys you can buy in pet stores.

I found a plastic squeaky hotdog toy,  it got chewed up after a few days & went in the bin

Nylabones  don't get chewed on more than 5 min when new & then left in toy box

The plastic spatula handle sounds like a great idea,  I'll try that one
