She’s fledged! 8.51 this morning.

It was lovely .. she had a smaller bird  for breakfast, then had a few practices .. a hop up onto a small ledge above the nest .. then closer to the camera after a big lot of flapping .. and a lovely smooth take off..   One of the chicks was on a ledge further down a bit later .. and mum went back and retrieved the left overs from breakfast.   Someone watching from Southbank said they'd seen the 4 - 2 on oneroof and 2 on another .. nearby the home ledge.

Thanks so much @Rebanne for  the original heads-up .. it has been an amazing experience watching this .. so much gratitude to the researchers and the admins of the sites for providing the opportunity,

And not to enable or anything …. but the 2 chicks in the nest at Charles Sturt Uni at Orange are probably about a week away from flying.....

I guess, as they are looking out/up/down, they are forming 'maps'  for when they finally launch :)

Yes, I think that was what was being said on the other site.   The older one was doing a lot of wing flapping this morning, and practising feeding from a carcass that parent had left in the nest .. so that one must be getting closer to flying .. based on what happened on the other site.

Looks like it.  It did look yesterday as though the slightly more advanced one was ready to go .. lots of wing flapping, and parent had left a bird for them to have a go at one their own .. which the more mature one was.  So that was the same pattern as Collins St.
